Scott Anthony Richeson, age 59, loving father and devoted son, joined his loved ones in heaven on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He was born on February 3, 1966, in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, to Irene Miller and Dale Richeson.
Scott is preceded in death by his father, Dale Elba Richeson; his father-in-law, John Phillip Yoars; and his mother-in-law, Alison Leth-Steensen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Kimberley Leth-Steensen Richeson, and their cherished twins, Cole Fredrick and Kylie Dale. He is also survived by his mother, Irene Yoars (The Woodlands, TX); brother-in-law, Craig Leth-Steensen and family (Ottawa, ON); sister-in-law, Wendy Leth-Steensen (The Colony, TX); stepbrother, John (JP) Yoars and family (Magnolia, TX); and stepsister, Melissa Schrock and family (Arthur, IL).
Scott spent his early years in Tuscola, Illinois, where he fondly remembered detasseling corn in the summers and spending time with his grandparents. His family later moved to Clear Lake, Texas, where Scott played numerous sports including soccer and baseball, participated in the Boy Scouts, served as an altar boy at the Methodist Church, and worked at Louie’s on the Lake.
He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Business and Marketing, always dreaming of one day owning his own company. His career began at Arnett Brokerage, where he discovered a lifelong passion for sales. He later worked at Golden Touch before joining his mentor Doak Schoenemann, eventually taking over the business after Doak’s retirement. Scott successfully ran the company for over 20 years, relishing both the challenges of entrepreneurship and the meaningful relationships he built along the way.
In 2002, Scott married the love of his life, Kim, in Dallas, Texas. Together they made countless memories on Lake Lewisville, boating with friends and enjoying life. A dedicated and hands-on father, Scott never missed a baseball game or swim meet, always cheering on his children with pride. He loved to travel, especially to tropical destinations, and was an avid sports fan who never missed a Cowboys or Texas Tech football game.
Scott’s warmth, wit, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed but carried with us in spirit—always.
