Stephanie Anastasia Carter was taken from us far too soon on February 21, 2026, in Little Elm, Texas. She was born on June 18, 1985, in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey, to her loving parents, Mary and Abraham Danhou.
Stephanie was a proud graduate of Columbia University and built an extraordinary career in commercial banking through relentless determination, integrity, and an unmatched work ethic. Over the course of her career, she held senior leadership roles at some of the most respected financial institutions in the world, including JPMorgan Chase, BOK Financial, BBVA, and Origin Bank, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking.
Her knowledge, discipline, and strategic insight earned her deep respect across the industry. Clients followed her not because of a logo on a building, but because of who she was — someone who answered the phone at any hour, who showed up when it mattered most, and whose advice was trusted without hesitation. Her value was never just transactional. It was relational. She built lifelong partnerships grounded in loyalty, wisdom, and care. In an industry defined by numbers, Stephanie was defined by relationships.
She held numerous professional licenses and certifications and was widely recognized for her expertise in commercial lending, treasury management, and complex credit structuring. Yet even with her remarkable accomplishments, she remained humble, grounded, and deeply committed to serving others.
Stephanie lived life with intention and energy. From an early love of reading to excelling academically and athletically, she carried a lifelong passion for growth and excellence. She approached every challenge, personal and professional, with courage and grace.
Her joy deepened when she met and married the love of her life, Will Carter. Together they built a home filled with laughter, adventure, and devotion. They shared a love for great food, travel, games, and simply being together. Stephanie brought steadiness, responsibility, and thoughtful care to every detail of their life, while Will brought spontaneity and shared adventure. Their bond was deep, natural, and rare — rooted in friendship, balance, and unwavering love.
Stephanie was organized, responsible, and the steady foundation of their shared life — the keeper of records, the planner, and the one who made sure everything and everyone was cared for. She was also endlessly adaptable, open-hearted, and full of warmth.
She was a devoted animal lover and cherished her four beloved French bulldogs, who brought her immeasurable happiness.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Will Carter; her mother, Mary Danhou; her father, Abraham Danhou; her siblings, Linda, David, and Charles; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Anthony, Nadia, Maya, and Elias.
