Victoria leaves her daughter, Alyssa Francesca Baker Johnson and son-in-law, Alan Johnson, sisters, Carolina G. Pierce, Pilar Lozano, and Pearl Gutierrez, brother, Gilbert Gutierrez and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Jesusita Gutierrez, sisters, Atanacia Salazar, Lucia G. Spillman and Mary G. Lambert, and brothers, Ladislao Gutierrez, and Margarito “Conn” Gutierrez.
Victoria was born on July 28, 1937 in Dallas, TX and graduated from N.R. Crozier Tech. While a student there, she received various scholastic awards and was an honor student. Victoria was involved in many civic, charitable and political organizations. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dallas and participated in many church activities throughout the years. Victoria was caring, creative, competitive and compassionate. She touched many lives, particularly those of children and the elderly, serving as a Big Sister for many years for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dallas. Victoria was passionate about the Lord and trusted in Him. She was also very patriotic and loved to proudly fly the American flag.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, TX with a lunch reception to follow in the San Damiano Room. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Victoria’s life. To honor her memory, donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of TX (www.bbbstx.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org). The family would like to thank the caregivers at Stonemere Rehabilitation for their loving care and dedication.
