I've been struggling to find the right words—I've never been great with them. I was only a small part of your life, just a few short moments compared to the lifetime you shared with Sherri and the boys. I’ll always carry the memory of your kindness and that unforgettable smile.

I always knew I would be good at one thing in my life.

    I learned a lot from my father. He helped me learn to read with hooked on phonics before kindergarten. He introduced me to my passion of hockey at Reunion Arena and playing in the alley behind our house. He taught me how to drive and made sure i was at the dmv at 7am on my 16th birthday. 

    But it was the moments in between where I learned the most; when he wasn't even aware he was teaching me, he was just being my dad.

    When he had to be my father, and not my friend, so i would learn there are consequences for our actions. 
    When he would tell me stories from his own childhood around our kitchen island, and taught me to stand up for myself and others. 
    Taking road trips every summer. Packing 7 of us into a mini van and dropping half off at the front door of a motel, who’d let the other half in through a side door because we could only afford one motel room.
    I learned to enjoy the entire journey. And that sometimes, those times when you’re just starting out, with barely two pennies to rub together, are actually the most fun memories you’ll have and to enjoy them.

    But most importantly, that its your time, presence, support, and love that makes a father. Treating every person with respect and dignity. These are the things I want to pass on to my own children 

I always wanted to be a dad, because it was  the thing my Hero was best at.

Part 3:

So, to the man who without a doubt hung the moon, I adore you. I am so thankful to forever be tied to your legacy. I hope to continue to make you proud. I promise to keep your memory alive in our home. I promise to carry your love forward. We love you, get some rest, I know in my soul that we will see each other again someday.

Part 2:

I will never forget the pure joy he had when Brandon and I told Bill and Sherri we were pregnant with CJ, the first grandbaby. He sat smiling, with tears in his eyes, and immediately started planning with Sherri. Being a Pappy brought him immense joy, and seeing his children become parents was something he always talked about. Bill and Sherri went from zero grandbabies to four in a little over 2 years. Bill would do absolutely anything for them, it was never a question of IF, it was a question of HOW? CJ, Lailah, Ollie, and Grayson truly had the best Pappy this world had to offer. From trips to the zoo, rides on the mower, to watching Bluey on the couch, those babies had their Pappy wrapped around their tiny fingers.

Thats just Bill though, the best of the best. A fierce protector, a loyal friend, a devoted spouse, and a dedicated father. Bill was a man of integrity, who believed in working hard and playing harder, and fighting for what was right even when it was not easy. The true weight of this loss is something we can never put into words.

To Sherri, 
You are the absolute light of his life, he loved you loud and often. Yall were absolute soulmates in every sense. Yall raised an incredible family together and each one of your sons has an amazing love to model their lives after.

To Grams,
Your boy cherished you, respected you, and loved you more than you will ever know. He was your baby, and you helped raise him into an incredible man who had family at the center of it all.

To Bran,
I see Bill in you. In the way you me, and in the way you love our boys. Your dad adored you, and I know he will forever play a role in how we raise our family because he is in every fiber of you.

Part 1:

My name is Kaelyn, and I had the pleasure to not only work alongside Bill and create a personal relationship, but then got to become his roommate, and his daughter-in-law. Bill was a mentor and a friend, while also parenting me and fighting for me.

I met Bill about 5 years ago while working at Rapid Med. My role at the clinic required me to do a little bit of everything, while also learning how to effectively communicate with all the staff. As I was introducing myself to coworkers, every single one of them warned me about Bill. They told me that he was grumpy, that he was tough, that he would call you on your stuff, and that he would hold you accountable to every word you said. They werent wrong.
Probably about a month into working my position, I needed Bill to help me with one of my patients. I went to his desk, and described my case in detail. He did not look up from his computer farm game once! When I was done talking, he said "Ok" and took his time gathering his things to go and see the patient. About 5 minutes later, Bill came out of the room, walked up to where I was charting and asked me what my name was. I told him, and he responded, "Ok" and went back to his desk. Fast forward a few days, I was working with Bill again, and he walked up to my desk and said, "Kaelyn, good morning, heard you were an LSU fan," then he smiled and said, "that sucks!" From that moment on, I knew I made it. We would talk about our love of cooking, life, and SEC football. He was a friend and mentor that slowly morphed into family.

But that right there was the special thing about Bill, there are so many stories similar to mine. Stories where bloodlines are blurred and you became a daughter, a son, a brother, or a sister. Bill took great pride in his chosen family, he loved fully, it didnt matter if you were around for a week or for 10 years, once you were in, you are in for life.

PT 2:
Now, I’m the fourth of five boys, so I came in right after the parenting manual got thrown out the window. Growing up with him wasn’t always easy. We were alike in all the ways that make for great stories and really long arguments-prideful, stubborn, both absolutely convinced we were right. Even in the middle of all the stubbornness, he was teaching me. He showed me how to stand up for myself. How to be strong, even when its easier not to be. And how to show up for your people- even if it’s not perfect, even if its messy, you show up.
Family meant everything to Dad. Whether we were laughing, yelling, or not speaking at all- he believed in sticking with your family. He’d say, “family is the thickest thing out there”. He might not have always said “I love you” in words, but you could feel it in his actions. The man would’ve waked through fire for any of us, hell for any of you too.
He taught me how to be patient. How to listen even when I didn’t want to. And how to love without holding back.
There’s so much we didn’t get to do. We never made it on that Alaskan cruise we’d always talked about. We never got him to a Texas Tech football game he loved Alabama too much. And we’ll never get the chance to tell him he’s going to be our pappy and get to see that giant smile on his face because there’s nothing, he loves more than his grandbabies.
But he’ll be with us for all of it. I’ll carry him with me every time I have to be the strong one. Every time I teach my kids something that he taught me, even if I didn’t realize it at the time. Every time I pour a drink and think “Man Dad would’ve liked this one”
We love you, Dad. We’ll miss you every day. You were wild, you were wise, and you were ours. Rest easy, and if heavens got a back porch make sure you find your perfect sunset spot with Gracie and Lola and a bottle of something strong- and I’ll know exactly where to find you.

PT:1
I never choose to work at the clinic with him like my brothers but I did have the honor of working the ranch with him and keeping him stressed with my left field career choices. Thank yall for being here. It means a lot to our family to see just how many people showed up to honor our dad. Though honestly. it doesn’t surprise us one bit. If you knew Bill, you knew he was the biggest people person around. The life of the party, loud and proud. It would’ve been impossible not to love him.
He had it all. Chickens, pigs, horses, and enough dogs over the years to start a kennel or a riot. He loved the country life. Ten acres of pure freedom and chaos. He treated his ranch like something you’dve seen in the wild west only instead of gold, he was rich in dogs, dust, and half-finished fencing projects. You could always count on a dog barking, a beer being cold, and some sort of chaos going on in the yard.
And yes- at one point he even got me what I wanted a llama named Kuzko. Most people would’ve questioned it. Dad didn’t. Llamas are stubborn, protective, and fiercely loyal to their pack. Which, if you knew my dad makes perfect sense. He was our Kuzko in a lot of ways- watching over all of us with that same strong, unshakable presence.
Dad was a lot of things; a farmer, a fighter, a man who believed in family so hard it could make you crazy and comforted all at the same time. Dad was truly one of a kind

PT 2:
He always ended every call with “I love you”. Because he knew I came from a family that says it every time- because you just never know. I’m so grateful I still have some of those voicemails saved, so I can hear his voice when I need to remember that love. 
And his love for Sherri? That was the kind of love people spend lifetimes hoping to find. Steady, playful, deep. Watching the way, he loved her taught all of us what devotion really looks like. Watching them together was something special, and I’m so lucky to have witnessed it firsthand.
He gave me an incredible husband- a man who is kind, patient, and shows me love through the smallest, most consistent acts. The kind of man who refills my water cup and brings my meds each night without a second thought. Because that’s the kind of love he saw growing up. That’s the kind of man he raised.
One of the hardest things I’ve had to accept is knowing I won’t get to see his face the day we get to share the news we’re expecting. That was a moment I dreamed of- because I knew how proud and excited, he’d be. There’s nothing that man loved more than grandbabies and being a Pappy. But I take comfort in knowing when that day comes, I can look up- and know our babies will always have someone watching over them. Their own personal guardian angel, cheering them on from above and the only thing he’ll ask is not to let them go to LSU. (sorry Kaelyn)
Theres a quote I love that says:
“Grief is just love with nowhere to go”
And today, it’s clear that there is so much love in this room. So many hearts holding pieces of him. And that’s where he lives now- in the laughs we still share, in the traditions we keep, and in the quiet moments we miss him most.
We love you. We miss you. And don’t worry- we’ll keep the long goodbyes going, just the way you always did.

PT:1
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m one of the many Bono daughters in laws as you’ve probably noticed, they had five kids, so there’s a pretty solid lineup of us by now. Honestly, walking into this family felt a little like joining a small-town football team- loud, full of love, and always ready to pile in for family dinners and group tests you’ll never escape. And I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
If you knew Bill, you know he was the kind of person people just gravitated to. He had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged, usually with a drink and a nice sweaty hug in his ratty old orange tank top. (if you know you know which one I’m talking about)
I met him when I was 16, and for the past nine years, he’s been the best second dad I could’ve hoped for. We bonded over cooking shows like “guys grocery games & chopped, shared a few too many drinks together, and his hugs could fix just about anything. The kind of hugs that wrapped all the way around your soul.
And if you ever tried to leave his house quickly- forget it. The “Italian goodbye” was a full production. One goodbye in the kitchen, another at the door, again at the car, and then a final wave once he walked you and your car all the way out the gate. And somehow, every single one of those goodbyes felt like it mattered.
As a PA, he was the lucky recipient of all my “what is this weird rash?” or “are you sure its not a tumor?” texts and got to witness my infamous vaccine meltdowns.  And somehow, he never once blocked my number…at least to my knowledge. But seriously through all of it, he never made me feel silly. Just seen and cared for- like he did for everyone.

Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭7‬ 
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.”

Death shakes us to the core. The pain is inescapable. We don’t need to feel guilty or embarrassed if you feel unprepared to face it. There’s no way to be ready for what we are going through.
Death was not part of God’s original plan. One reason death is so hard to accept and understand is that it’s completely out of step with the life God planned for this world. The apostle Paul calls death our “enemy” (1 Corinthians 15:26).
Death is the enemy of everything good and beautiful about life. It should make you morally sad and righteously angry. Death reminds us that we live in a world that is terribly broken. It’s biblical to treat death as sad and unnatural.
But God defeated sin and death.
The death of Jesus Christ is a powerful demonstration of this truth. On the hill of death outside the city, the best thing that ever happened came from the worst thing ever.
But this terrible moment was under God’s control. God planned that this ultimate evil would accomplish ultimate good. In this dark moment, as Jesus died on the cross, God defeated sin and death—two enemies we could not defeat on our own.
Jesus died so we would no longer have to die. When He rose from the dead, death was defeated.

Romans 8:18
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

Dad is experiencing that glory.

Dad was a lot of things, a physicians assistant, a Harley riding motorcycle enthusiast, a horse riding cowboy, like dang just pick something. But most importantly he was a loving husband to our mom, son to our grandmother, brother to our aunts and uncles, pappy to his grandkids, and dad to my brothers and I. It wasn’t always perfect, he had his sins and struggles like we all do, but he never gave up on us. Family meant everything to him. Anyone who spent any amount of time with him would know that. He just wanted to always be involved in our lives. I think about the last week I got to spend with him while he was in Florida. He helped me with a few projects in my new house like a dad does even when on vacation. He got to go to his favorite place, Joe Pattie’s seafood market, and we made a lobster dinner. We spent a lot of time sitting on the back patio couch watching cooking shows. He helped me hang the tv outside but I think he did it more for him cuz he spent a ton of time out there. I also think about the time he took to hang with my wife Whitney on his own. They stayed up till 2am watching Harry Potter while Whitney baked a cake together after everyone else went to bed. But most important to me now is all the time he got to spend with our daughter Lailah. For anyone who knows this Bono family, they know girls are hard to come by. And I know he loved her with everything he had. He loved all his grandkids but it’s a different love with girls. One of the last days I spent with him well was his birthday. I was sick that day and had to go to the urgent care but he, my mom, and Lailah all got to go to brunch together. I’m so thankful for the memories Lailah will get to carry on about him. My heart hurts for her more than anything. I got 32 amazing years and she got less than 2.

It’s easy to be depressed and angry today which is ok. But today I think back to one of my favorite TV shows Ted Lasso and a message I learned from an episode. In the episode a character is experiencing a lot of heartache and suffering but his coach who is always angry stands up for him and tells others that in this situation “I choose joy.” In that moment he doesn’t ignore or deny the negative emotions in the face of adversity, but instead chooses to focus on happiness and focus on approaching tough times with optimism rather than succumbing to despair. So today I choose Joy for dad because it’s what he would want. We will keep your memory alive dad and tell all your stories. I’m not sure who I’m going to text when I have questions or reach out to for advice yet, but we will be ok. Because I know God has a hold of you now. Dad today you probably found a set of stairs to run up and down cuz we know you haven’t been able to do that for a while. And you probably found a nice spot by the beach to hang out and wait. This isn’t goodbye, but see you later. Love you forever and one last Roll Tide with you.

His passing has changed me.
It’s changed the way I love, the way I listen, the way I express myself—and the way I show up for my own children.

Because of him, I now understand the value of the little things. And while my kids may never know Pappy in person, they will know his legacy.
They’ll feel his spirit.
And most of all, they’ll know his love, because I’ll do my best to pass it on, the way he passed it on to me.

Take this watch, for example. One day, Carly and I walked into my parents' house and he immediately pulled me aside to show me a box. He was grinning, excitedly talking about the mechanisms and certificates, not because he was proud of the watch itself, but because he remembered how I once told him about walking through watch stores in Vegas, admiring the designs and brands. He had held onto that moment. And now, he wanted to share something he love, because he knew I’d appreciate it too. Another memory that sticks with me: after a car auction in Nocona, I bought a red 1977 Corvette Stingray. We were both so excited to bring it home and look it over together. If you’ve seen the slideshow, you probably noticed him in his red Porsche—he loved his cars. While I was away for an internship in Houston, he took care of mine. One day, he called just to tell me he had rebuilt the carburetor. He didn’t do that for recognition. He did it to share a story—to talk about working on his old Trans Am, swapping motors in the driveway. He wanted to teach me those skills, pass down those memories, and see his passions live on through me. One of the greatest gifts I received was to watch him take care of and play with my son, even just for the short time we got. No one gets to see how your parents loved and took care of you as a child, but you get to see them do it to your own children. You get to see them hold them close to their hearts, whisper in their ears, and kiss the tops of their head. They help them understand this world as they helped you. He gave us every opportunity he could and he cherished those times. The photos we have of this time will never be enough but I cant thank him enough for every single one he took. Looking back now, I just wish I had asked him for more.
I wish I had taken more photos with him.
I wish I had asked for his help more with my cars.
I wish I had asked why he got into watches.
I wish I had simply asked him to tell me more—about him.

My name is Zachary William Bono-the one son he knew was good looking enough to carry his name. My father loved the small moments—probably even more than the grand gestures. And now, looking back, it’s the little things that stand out to me the most. Hindsight has changed my perspective. I used to be the kid who groaned about standing in age order for the 15th photo of the day, or having to freeze on Christmas morning while Dad struggled to get his articulating tripod to stand up straight on the counter just so he could film us opening gifts. I didn’t understand it then. But now, as I’ve gone through those photos to help create this slideshow—seeing the world through his eyes—I realize those moments meant everything to him. He wasn’t just capturing us on camera; he was holding onto our joy. And now? I’d let him take a million photos even while I'm mid-bite at the dinner table like he was famously known for doing. Thankfully Carly spared me and didn't put those pictures in. I’d wait all day for the perfect angle. I’d jump into every one of his selfies. What I once thought were meaningless interactions, I now see were his efforts of connecting. It was never about just inviting the family over to watch a football game and a reason to cook, it was him wanting to take care of us again even if just for an evening. It was never just a goodnight call to my mom every night before bed because that's just what you do, it was him wanting to hearing her voice and making sure she knew he was always loved her. It was always his way of saying I love you, even if it wasn't those words verbatim.

When I think about Bill as a Pappy, yes, I think of all the joy. But more than anything, I grieve. I grieve all the moments Grayson won’t get to have with him. I’ve seen how Bill played with the older kids, how he cooked with them, how he loved them with his whole heart. And it breaks my heart that Grayson won’t be able to work on cars with him and Zach, go to the zoo together, go to Disney World, watch movies on the couch, make homemade pasta, have sleepovers, or just eat dinner and play games afterward. But when I watch Zach with Grayson, I see Bill all over again—his generosity, his humor, his strength. It reminds me that Bill’s legacy isn’t just in our memories, but in the way we love, the way we raise our children, and the way we show up for each other. 
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Bill, it’s this: take the picture. Take the picture on the boring days. Take the picture on the ordinary days. Take it even if you look like you just rolled out of bed. Just take the picture. Because as I’ve been going through everything, gathering photos to show how much Pappy loved Grayson—how he cared for him, played with him, loved him—I realized I only have a handful. And now, those few pictures mean the world. 
We love you Bill. Can’t wait to see you again. And roll tide.

When I started thinking about my favorite stories or memories of Bill, I had a hard time choosing just one—mostly because, well, a lot of them are… slightly inappropriate. And since my parents are here, I figured it’s probably best to keep those to myself for now. But when I thought about Bill as a Pappy, I found it just as hard to pick a single favorite memory—this time because there are simply too many. Bill was an incredible Pappy. He absolutely loved it.
When I had just had Grayson, Bill would come over and spend the night to help take care of him. I remember one night, Bill was sitting on the couch holding Grayson, who was just screaming his head off. Zach suggested, “He probably wants you to stand up and rock him.” And Bill, completely calm, replied, “Ah, I don’t mind the crying.” And I’m sitting there thinking, “Well, I care. Grayson cares. Just stand up!” Fast forwards a few months, I just started going back to work and Bill watched Grayson by himself for the first time. I was a little nervous (first time mom here)—and Grayson was not exactly an easy baby—so I texted Bill to check in. He replied, “It’s going great! We just ate and now we’re getting a little sleepy.” I felt so relieved. But then I get a picture… and there’s Grayson, sitting in his bouncer, face bright red, big crocodile tears rolling down, just mid-scream. I stared at it, ‘Wow... this is great?’ And then I laughed—because that was Bill. Calm, steady, totally unshaken. Even when things were clearly a little chaotic, he chose to see the best in the moment. Even with Grayson screaming, I never once worried about whether he was safe or loved. Bill adored that boy. He would have done anything for him… except, apparently, stand up.
Even though they only had nine short months together, there are already so many sweet memories—moments we’ll be able to share with Grayson as he grows up. Stories that will help him know who his Pappy was.

We are so saddened by this news our hearts go out to Dr. Bono and  his family. Dr. Bono was such an incredible warm hearted kind man who treated all of my family members at RapidMed. He was always such a pleasure to be around.

He built a joyful life.

His and Sherri’s house was always full: of people, laughter, noise, dogs, and sometimes more unusual things like a rescued llama.

On my first visit to Texas, I remember hiding in Anthony’s room for a break. Adam found me and asked what was wrong. I said, “Are there always this many people here?”
Turns out, yes.

Now, I wouldn’t want it any other way. Bill didn’t just open his door, he opened his life. And Sherri did too. They created a home where everyone felt welcome, where everyone had a place. That spirit of hospitality is something we try to carry forward in our own home.

He taught us to live fully and make space for others.

He is missed deeply. We all feel it.

But the best way to honor him is to carry forward what he lived so well:

Love big.
Show up.
Build a full life, and make room in it for others.

Bill showed up for people.

He wasn’t someone who only said “I love you.” He lived it. He answered every text, usually diagnosing whatever weird ailment we thought we had. He spent vacations helping us hang light fixtures or fix something around the house, never once complaining. Then he’d turn around and make the best biscuits and gravy you’ve ever had. He did it all quietly, never asking for recognition.

He made people feel taken care of. Like whatever you needed—he’d figure it out. When we brought our daughter Lailah home, it was clear: if she wanted him to steal the moon, he would’ve tried.

He raised sons who show up, too. Good boys who became even better men. Kind, present, loving. Fathers who reflect the best parts of him. Because of that, our kids are growing up surrounded by the steady, big-hearted love Bill gave so freely.

Bill loved big.

In his final days at the hospital, it felt deeply unfair that someone so full of life was confined to a hospital bed. But even then, the room was never empty. The life he lived meant people were always beside him, showing up for him and for each other.

Family flew in from all over. Friends dropped everything. The room’s capacity rules were broken daily. The front desk started saying, “Another one here for Bono?”

A woman checking us in looked at Adam and me and said, “Your dad must be very loved.”
She was right. Because Bill loved big and people showed up because he always had.

When Adam and I started dating 13 years ago, Bill welcomed me with open arms. I was the first daughter-in-law, but never felt like an “in-law.” I was family. Just a few weeks ago, he stayed up hours past his bedtime watching Harry Potter with me. We danced in a hotel lobby in Italy. He nearly killed me on a river tube once. He bragged about the desserts I made for him. He loved my family like his own.

There was never Adam’s family and Whitney’s family, just family. He made sure of that. And through everything, he always made me feel like I belonged.

And it wasn’t just me. Several friends feel the same. He may have had five biological children, but he was a dad to many more. His love was deep, it reached far, and everyone who knew him is better off because of it.

To the family of Dr. Bill, He was an amazing doctor and friend.  Our family was one that would request him and wait for him.  We missed him when he moved to the Argyle office.  Prayers and sympathy for all who loved and cared for Bill.  May Bill Rest in Peace. Sandy, Mike, Nadia, and Daniel McCarthy

My family and I are so sorry to hear about Dr. Bono's passing.  He was truly a wonderful dr and amazing person.   His caring and dedication to his patients was what made my family come back and see only him for almost 20 years.  We will miss him so much.  We send prayers to his entire family. This was one night in Tuscaloosa where you and Mrs. Sherri were visiting Adam after graduation. At the time I laughed that yall were dancing in the living room while me and Alex were sitting there, but as I got older I knew this was strong love you both had for each other and loves looks like. You both didn’t care who was in the room and just wanted to have a beautiful dance to yourselves! ❤️

I am deeply saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. I met him nearly 20 years ago when my daughter began working at Rapid Med, where she adored him and the team. 

My husband and I soon became his patients and quickly understood why—sheer joy and fun radiated from him. 
Bill was our favorite jr doc at the Highland Village office, and we were so disappointed when he moved to Argyle, though we knew he’d continue shining there.

Bill was exceptional—kind, thorough, and always greeting us with warmth. Our shared love for Alabama football sparked many fun conversations! 
He cared for us like family, and his presence was a gift. Having lost my husband at 62 in October 2024, I know the pain of losing someone so young. My heart aches for your family. May God bless and comfort you during this time. Bill’s legacy of care and kindness will live on. ❤️

I’m truly lucky that work led me to meet Sherri, and through her I got to see firsthand what a wonderful husband, father, and friend you were. We’ll miss you, but we’re so grateful for the memories you gave us and we’ll carry them (and those smiles) with us always. 💙

Starting my life after university I found myself working at Rapid Med under the guidance of Bill. We had so many crazy shifts together but he was always there to support everyone.  He use to joke that my hair bun would break my fall if I ever fell and when I did end up with a concussion he said "HOW" with that giant bun of yours. The one day I didn't wear a hair bun... 
He was a beautiful soul and will forever be in my heart. Rest in peace my friend. You did so many amazing things here on earth now you can go be an amazing angel.

In December 2021 the Turners, Smiths and Bono’s took a trip to Gatlinburg for Christmas. Bill and I were walking Obi and Bentley (Adam and Whitney’s dogs) and a baby bear appeared on the hill. I called up to Bill and said “Hey Bill look a bear!” He says “Oh we need to go!” He takes off running with Bentley. I stopped and take a picture- because no picture no proof. He turned around to make sure I was behind him and I wasn’t so he calls out, “Danielle, come on, there could be a mama bear right behind this one!” So I hustled to catch up and we get inside the cabin safe and sound! Bill was always protecting the ones he loves and even their extended family! He was a great man! The world will not be the same without him but we will see him again one day.

Dearest Friend Sherri,

I can’t get to Frisco to hug you and wrap my arms around YOU. My heart is broken with yours. I was there when you two met and fell in love. I have witnessed and cherished the family and love You and Bill created. Oh for goodness sake…. We sat side-by-side and cared for our babies. ( However… you had way more babies than I did!) 
Please know that I would give anything to be there with you.

Fly high my brother! Our family lost a great man on June 24th. Whether it be work or play, he always had a way of showing you his true heart! I’m so glad he got to enjoy his “country house “ for as long as he did. I’m sure it brought back a lot of childhood memories he got to share with his sons. I am so thankful we went on our California trip last year. We played games and hung out every night. Something you don’t always get to do as siblings when you grow up and have families of your own. That trip will be forever etched in my heart!

I remember the first day I worked with Bill at Rapid Med. We had only been open for about a year and were just getting to the point where we needed someone full time aside from John and me. We had had a few PAs work some shifts here and there, but I could tell right away that Bill was different. He worked efficiently, his clinical skills were excellent, and the patients loved him. He quickly developed a loyal patient following. Many patients would wait to be seen by Bill rather than see someone else. He rarely called me with questions during the almost 15 years I worked with him, but when he did I would panic because I thought something terrible must be happening if Bill was calling me! I know how much he will be missed. 
Bono family, I am so sorry you have to walk this path of grief. I am praying that you feel God’s presence through it all.

I'm extremely saddened to hear of Dr. Bono's passing. I didn't know him personally but I was a patient of his years ago as a teenager and I feel like he was the first doctor to ever take me seriously and treat my issues with chronic illness with dignity and kindness. All these years later I've never forgotten the kindness he had shown me. I was able to start a journey to taking my health seriously because of him. I hope he rests well.

Although I never met Bill, I know he must have been a man of incredible character. His son, Anthony, was my son’s favorite teacher from his Kindergarten experience. The impact Anthony made on his little life has given me immense gratitude for your entire family. I can only assume that Bill had a large hand in the positive influence that his son passed down onto mine.

The person my son was laughing at was you across the table that night. You just had a way with kids.

We took this on Alabama and LSU game night. Thank you 🙏 for always being you caring, loving, and most of all setting the example.

It was never a dual moment with you. You were always the life of the party.

This hurts so bad. You adopted me into the family as another son. I looked forward to the text messages, the calls and most of all the guidance you would give a son from a father. You showed us how to treat a wife, how to take care of business, you shaped and mold us into men that we are today. Doesn’t matter if the last name was different, in your eyes I was a Bono and that was all that mattered to you. I Love Dad. And will always cherish what we had as father and son.

Bill was my mentor during my first PA job of my career (along with Anton). He taught me more than I can even recall. We worked weekends together and would always watch football on Sundays. A great man who will truly be missed.

This was the last time we were all together the siblings and mom. It was a beautiful trip to California. There were some tears and many laughs with you being your usual goofy self. Thank you for being the best big brother and friend a sister could ask for! I wil love you forever 💙 Until we meet again William!!

Dr. Bill was my Dr. for over 10 years. He was such a nice guy and always had time to listen. I enjoyed every time I saw him. He was so proud of his family. Sending condolences to his family. God gained another Angel.
