Charity was so full of love and life. She revered all things whimsical. She lit up every room she ever walked into. She was a beautiful soul, inside and out and will be painfully missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Charity's earthly journey began on a cold winter's day at Longmont United Hospital. She entered the world at 7:11am on February 6th, 1992. The eldest daughter of John and Serena Beck, Charity was enthusiastic about life from the moment she took her first breath. She was a happy, intelligent child who loved to read. She made an impact on many, including her teachers who wished they had more students just like her. She developed her own relationship with Christ at a very young age and remained faithful all her life. Charity was balanced, never leaning so far as to be a "Tomboy" or a "Princess". She fell right there in the middle, leaving room in her life for all things. She was very close with her sister, Rebecca, who was also her best friend. Though they bickered sometimes, as sisters do, Charity was always there for Rebecca.
Charity attended Longmont schools including Mountain View Elementary and Longs Peak Middle School. She later transferred to GOAL Virtual Academy for high school and graduated in 2013. She had began to take college courses and aspired to be a teacher and considered becoming an Addiction Therapist as well, recognizing the need for support in difficult times. Throughout her educational career, she was a high achiever, earning a Student Achievement Award and remaining on the Honor Roll. Charity loved learning. She was dedicated and focused on the future.
All her life, Charity loved to help others. She could be shy and quiet when meeting new people but once you got to know her, she would open up and become a dear friend. She was sweet and kind and had the most beautiful smile. She was spirited and had an enjoyed adventure. Even as a child, a long drive could ease her mind. She loved the mountains and Colorado, where she grew up, and visiting Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. She also came to love Wyoming and moved up there for a time. She even found her way all the way to Alaska for a winter! She enjoyed babysitting for others and really enjoyed her job at the movie theatre, which allowed her to see as many horror films as she wanted, and she saw many! She enjoyed cooking, baking, and cake decorating. She loved to sing and had a lovely voice. She was active and took part in Zumba and Yoga, and was learning to belly dance.
Charity remained an avid reader, devouring books of all kinds. She wasn't too picky about what she read as long as it was a good read and as long as it was an actual book, not a screen. She loved the smell of books and bookstores and she loved the library. She especially loved fantasy and other worlds, whether it be magic or dragons or fairies. She loved Harry Potter and she loved the Twilight series! Charity was Team Edward all the way! She was beginning to develop a deep appreciation for poetry. In addition to fantasy found in books, Charity sought out the fantasy realm in life and shared a love of the Renaissance with her father.
There are not words enough to describe the depth of the loss felt by those who knew and loved Charity. Hers was a life well lived but her story ended much too soon. Her tender spirit and eternal beauty will not be forgotten. We will see you again someday, sweet girl.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39
Charity leaves behind her loving parents Serena & John, her baby sister Rebecca, and her dear niece Seraphina. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents Robert & Pam Beck, aunt Shelly Griffith and uncles, Tyler Beck, and David, Michael, and Johnner Hughes, and her beloved puppy, Bane, as well as many dear friends and other extended family. She is greeted in Heaven by her infant sister, Sarah Abigail Beck, grandma Doris JoAnne Jones (Diehl), her maternal grandparents, Pearl Jane Berrong and Richard Hughes, and beloved family pets, Bear & Lady.
