

Lt. Col. Virgil Herbert Wilson, 82, of Loveland, left this world to join his Lord and Savior Friday, August 31st, 2012. He was born October 5, 1929 in Belvidere, Illinois to Frank Burgess and Vanetta (Morgridge) Wilson. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1949.
Col. Wilson’s military career spanned the next 30 years. On his return from Vietnam, he received the Bronze Star. Twice decorated, with the Army Commendation Medal, Col. Wilson also served with the Deputy Chief of Staff. In 2007, the Who’s Who of America 2008 Edition informed Mr. Virgil Wilson of his prestigious nomination.
Virgil Wilson’s true passion was for the Lord. All who knew Brother Virg knew him as a gifted teacher and anointed prophet of the Word of God. He was a good and faithful servant for 40 years. Brother Wilson stayed true to his calling and his convictions no matter the personal cost or sacrifice.
He is survived by his children, Barry C. Wilson (Cari) and Terrie L. Enriquez Wilson (Ruben) both of Fort Collins; his brother, George A. Wilson (Madeline) of Crown Point, IN; his wife (divorced) V. Ann C. McNaron Wilson of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen, and son, Gary K. Wilson.
Graveside Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Resthaven Memory Gardens, within view of the mountain peaks named the Twin Sister’s that our dad loved so much. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
