Eleanor Louise Sorensen born February 7th, 1942 in Perkins Michigan, died June 5th, 2023 in Fort Collins Colorado. She was a housewife for 20 years, then got her GED when she was older. She later went to work at Target for many years, and then worked at the Bighorn Restaurant as a waitress in Estes Park, and then at the YMCA in Estes Park. She received her CNA test at age of 75 so she can stay home and take care of her daughter, Cheryl Sorensen, who is mentally disabled until her death.
Her life wasn't easy but she knew God was always taking care of her. She loved and devoted to her family. She was always there for them when they were in need and her family is forever grateful.
She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Miron and mother Inez Miron. Preceded in death are her brothers Robert Miron, Donald Miron, Johnny Miron, Arnold Miron and by sisters Beatrice Tankersley, and June Olsen.
She is survived by sisters Rita Gudwer and Carol Parsons. She is survived by her five daughters Cheryl Sorensen of Fort Collins CO, Wanda Eliason of Loveland CO, Linda Norris-Orcutt of Grand Junction CO, Robin Bauer of Wellington CO, and Jamie Montano (Adam Montano-husband) of Cheyenne WY. She had eleven grandchildren James Norris, Nick Norris, Santrale Johnson, Drake Eliason, Adrian Bauer, Christopher Bauer, Michael Bickling, Haley Bickling, Abbie Montano, Sam Montano, and Ella Montano. Survived by her great grandchildren Alexa Bauer, Aubrey Bauer, Adalynn Bauer, Kanna Joyner, Urbosa Joyner, Mya Bernard, Wesson Norris, Ava Nervig, Rylynn Reno, Oliver Reno, and Atreus Eliason.
All of her daughters feel, she was the strongest woman they have ever seen. She was also proud of her girls and always gave credit to God. "Everyone in our neighborhood growing up called her mom. Our house was the hangout. Our mother always cared about the rights for children, even if they weren't hers. Especially if they were different and or disabled." She will be missed by everyone who knew her. "See you in heaven later, mom"- Daughters of Eleanor Louise Sorensen.
The poem below is by Eleanor's grandson Nick Norris in honor of her passing.
Worlds Greatest Grandma- poem by grandson Nick Norris
I'm thankful for the love, you gave me everyday
I hope that it's the kind of love, that never goes away
I appreciate all the things you've ever done for me
I needed a place to stay and you let me stay for free
It makes me feel so good, to know you really care
And if I ever need you, I know that you'll be there
You've seen me through my good times, also through the bad
You'll be there when I'm happy, and even when I'm sad
I know I've never told you how, how grateful I really am
You're more than just my grandma, you're my mother and friend
And I know you'll always love me, no matter what I do
I just hope you know grandma, I feel the same about you
