Eleanor Vigil

Born in Madrid, New Mexico on March 3, 1931, she was the daughter of Loreto and Adela Ramos. She was a caregiver all her life, working in geriatrics and caring for her family. In 1950, she married Nick Vigil in Berthoud, Colorado. He was the only man she ever loved. Together they welcomed four wonderful children.

Eleanor was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife and an excellent mother. She was patient with her children and always supportive. Eleanor was a good friend and always available with sound advice to give. She was a very caring person and was very kind. She was also very giving and generous, always putting others first. She was deeply spiritual and loved the Lord.

In her leisure time, Eleanor loved doing puzzles. She was an avid reader, always keeping her mind active, and spent much time reading her scriptures, keeping her soul active as well. Prayer was a very important part of her life and she attended church whenever possible. She also enjoyed word search puzzles, and watching her favorite programs on the television including The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, and The Prices is Right.

She will always be remembered for her kind soul and gentle nature. Eleanor will be dearly missed by many.

Her family included her husband Nick Vigil; children and their spouses, Richard and Ruthann Vigil, James and Irene Coppola Vigil, Jerry and Mary Vigil, and Shirley Martinez; siblings and their spouses, John & Isabelle Ramos, Frank & Mercy Ramos, Loreto Jr. & Vickie Ramos, Martha & Del Gonzalez, Sam & Presilla Ramos, Rosemary & Joe Pagliasotti, Josephine & Gary Leibhart, and Patracia Griego; and too many grandchildren to list, all of whom she loved very much. She and her family were very grateful for close friends who took such good care of her including Josephine Oberg, JoAnn Vigil, Rosalie Messenger, Rita Moreno, Judy Parks, and Barb Woods.

Services will be held privately. Her family will celebrate her life and lay her to rest alongside her late husband, Nick Vigil. Memories of Eleanor and words of sympathy for her family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
