George W. Wheatley

George W. Wheatley, 95, of Windsor died at his home on May 27, 2010. He was born on May 3, 1915 to George R. Wheatley and Bessie E. Sampson in Kremmling, CO. He served in the U.S. Navy 1935 â?? 1939. On September 28, 1939, he married Lillian Cox in Idaho Springs, CO. He worked for the North American Aviation Company in CA before moving to the Kremmling area where he ranched for 20 years. They then moved to Fort Collins where he worked for the USDA for 19 years before retiring in Windsor. George enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and attended the Evangelical Free Church in Windsor.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lillian Wheatley of Windsor; daughters, Zee Sala of Windsor, Roma Lee (Steve) Novakovich of Windsor, and Roxanne (Tom) Zahller of Cody, WY; brothers, Douglas Wheatley of Hotchkiss, and Kenneth Wheatley of Kremmling; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Evangelical Free Church in Windsor. Interment Lakeview Cemetery.
