

Harriet was born August 2, 1938 to Joe and Julia (Dunlap) Kittel, along with her twin brother Harvey. Her first job was in grade school ironing pillowcases for 3 cents each at the nursing home next door. In high school she ran the train and made snow cones at the City Park in Fort Collins. As a young lady, she was a dancer and dance instructor at Kitt Wynn Dance Studio. She married Kenneth W. Doty in 1959 and helped establish Doty’s Pest Control as a thriving business using her secretary and scheduling skills. They have three children Troy Kenneth Doty, Deken Joe Doty and Kendy Jewel Doty.
In 1980, she married Dr. Robert J. Bliss and they made their home in Tulsa, OK from 1981-1985. Harriet was a faithful volunteer and Prayer Partner at the City of Faith which was part of the Oral Roberts Ministry. Harriet managed the bakery at Vern’s Place for her brother from 1992-96.
Harriet loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, passionately participating twice a week in an intercessory prayer meeting at her church The Filling Station in Wellington, CO.
Harriet was preceded in death by her cherished Granny Harriet Dunlap, parents Joe and Julia Kittel, beloved husband Dr. Robert (Bob) Bliss Sr., much-loved twin brother Harvey and wife Dinah Kittel.
Harriet is survived by T. Kenneth (Ann) Doty, Deken Doty (Michelle), Kendy Doty, three grandchildren Renee (Adam) Birdsell, Chad (Amy) Doty, Kurt (Michelle) Doty, six great-grandchildren, niece Val (Nick) Lanteri, nephew Cameron (Marci) Kittel, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as five treasured stepchildren Ty Bliss, Dr. Robert (Sandy) Bliss Jr., Teresa (Bob) Bagshaw, Bill Bliss and Jeannie (Jerry) Lebsack.
A memorial service for Harriet will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday May 5, 2025 at The Wellington Filling Station, 3906 Cleveland Ave, Wellington, CO 80549. Following her service, she will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery at 3:00 pm, 1900 W Mountain Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80521
