Jim was born in Fort Collins, CO on March 9, 1958 to the late James H. Carroll and Patricia A. Carroll. He was a proud Colorado native who graduated from Poudre High School in 1976. In his younger years he enjoyed playing sports and going hunting and fishing. He worked for Anheuser-Busch for many years before retiring in 2018. After retirement, Jim enjoyed traveling with his brothers, uncles, and nephews every year to South Dakota for their annual guys trip. He loved football, watching a good western, and had a strong desire to take care of animals. Before he passed, he mostly enjoyed going to his grandson's football games, listening to his granddaughter's laugh, and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years Dori Carroll, his daughter Amanda Taylor, his son-in-law Josh Taylor, and his two grandchildren, Charlie and Madison; his siblings Ron (Brenda) Carroll, Lela (Ron) Glick, Dave (Sandy) Carroll, lots of brother and sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents James and Patricia Carroll, his in-laws Ralph and Bertha Apodaca, two of his brothers Steve Carroll, Rick Carroll, and his best friend Joe.
He will be missed dearly, but has left lasting memories for all who knew him. As a family, we would like to thank the entire team at Canyon Home Care and Hospice. There are no words to express our gratitude for the amazing care Jim received. Per his wishes, there will be no service. However, donations may be made to the Larimer County Humane Society. Please help make a dog or cat's life better in honor of Jim's love for helping all animals.
