He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kim, three children Deb, Mark and Alicia, daughter-in-law Vinh and four grandchildren. Jim loved the outdoors having grown up on the St. Clair River and Lake Huron in Michigan; where his lifelong passions for boating, fishing, and camping began with his beloved brother, Bob. He graduated from The University of Michigan College of Engineering, (go Blue!), where he met Mom, and upon graduation, joined the Navy and taught navigation in Newport, R.I. Dad began his working career and retired from Eastman Kodak Company, living in Rochester, NY, Guadalajara, Mexico and Fort Collins, CO. He volunteered and supported many worthy causes in the area including Foothills Gateway, Pathways Hospice, The Community Foundation, CSU, National Forest Service and many more. He most enjoyed serving as Fort Collins Symphony Board president, where his lifelong love of classical music was celebrated.
Jim and his wife traveled around the world together and they particularly enjoyed visiting all of America’s National Parks and Presidential Libraries. His family and friends meant the world to him, including his 30+ year fishing group. He was deeply committed to his Catholic faith, and he also loved the cabin in Cherokee Park, cross country skiing, hiking, a nice soak in a hot tub, Oreo cookies, setting up camp, 90 Shilling beer, a warm hat and a drive up Poudre Canyon. Enjoy a piece of strawberry shortcake for Dad- it was always his favorite.
To honor Jim, a contribution to Foothills Gateway, The Fort Collins Symphony or Pathways Hospice would be special.
