James Henry Ryba

Jim was born in Omaha, NE on Sept. 21, 1941 to the late Frank and June Ryba. He spent most summers on the Peterson family ranch in Arthur, NE with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from Omaha North High School in 1960, attended the University of NE @ Lincoln, and was in the Nebraska Nat’l Guards, where he became staff sergeant. Jim managed clothing stores in western NE including the L.B. Murphy Co. After moving to AZ, he opened and operated his own business, Sedona Outback. Jim treated everyone like a friend- constantly teasing and joking, whether with a customer or a stranger. He was an avid golfer, played basketball throughout school and loved his Huskers.

Anyone who knew him knew that Jim’s pride and joy was all about his family. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (they married 02/14/1970); his daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie Gray (Johnny), Kimberly McMillen (Chris), Jodi Armstrong (Brian) and Jami Ryba (Nate); his precious grandchildren Jordin and Cade McMillen, Mia Armstrong, Kyle Fennelly and Samuele & Elliot Glossi.

He was a kind and loving soul who maintained a gruff and grumpy exterior. He will be dearly missed by all.
