He was born May 17, 1948 in Hays, Kansas to Samuel Edward and Bernadine Ebbert Flora. Jay graduated from Quinter high school and K-State. Jay worked many jobs including Kodak, FiberLok and Lowes.
On June 3, 2000 Jay married Leova Gardunio Flora in Loveland, CO. They live in Fort Collins. Jay loved working on his yard planting all kinds of flowers. He loved sitting outdoor by his little waterfall that he called Prayer Sanctuary. He Loved reading his bible and praying. He is a member of Abundant Life Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife, Leova Flora; children, Jill (John) Lee of Arvada, CO, Benjamin Flora of Colorado Springs, CO, Sarah (Daniel) Hankins of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jacob (Koontz) Flora of Fort Collins, CO; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by Karen Hoeffner Grubbs of Salina, KS, Kathleen (Ed) Luett of Salina, KS, Jane Flora (Mark) Swick of Gardner, KS, Samuel (Melinda) Earl of Quinter, KS, Joy Flora (Tim) King of McKinney, TX.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Samuel and Bernadine Flora; brother, Kenneth; nephew, Ethan Flora; and brother-in-laws, Henry Hoeffner and Kenton Grubbs.
