Jim faced his cancer and Parkinson’s diseases with faith and resolve unparalleled. His passion for the outdoors kept him active while fishing, boating, hunting, and kayaking. With the lake house, he focused on being engaged with friends and family that he cherished – always starting the party, serving the first round of margs - then heading to the dock for his next big catch. He was a model of love and support for his wife Tammie, through all the ups and downs life can bring. The adventures packed into their 17 years together were enhanced by the friends and family that shared the joyous times with them.
Jim will be missed:
By the Knauers: His older brother Dean-growing up with trapping/hunting/fishing in their blood! Nieces Lisa, Kristy & her family (as a great uncle to 2 young ones).
As a fishing uncle (Kendalls): Monkey, Mad-Girl and Naters – always teaching with patience, passion, and child-like joy with every catch! Sharing a sweet tooth unmatched! (and as a great uncle-born in June).
By his Mother/Father in law (Simpsons): For the amazing love he gave to their daughter Tammie!
Sister/Brother in law (Kendalls): The mad skills as a handy-man and the fourth for travel fun!
As a hunting buddy with Bill and Jack: The adventures were soul fulfilling!
His sisters by choice: Sharon, Pam, and Bev.
Friends and Family: The extended list of prayer warriors! So many, so treasured.
And by his Wife: Tammie cannot find the words to express what a broken heart feels like. But knowing where Jim is lessens the sting of death. He has no more suffering, no more pain – he sees Jesus face to face! There is a plan, God is Good, always…..
In honor of Jim’s wishes, his ashes will be distributed at various fishing spots at a later date. We could tell you where – but you know how fishermen are!

Friends and family attended an Open House ~ “Tribute Toast” on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 at C.B. & Potts at Collindale Golf Course in Fort Collins. Jim's family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who were able to join them in fellowship and toast to the good memories!
