Jo Ann Adamson

Jo Ann was born August 23, 1936 in Springfield, Colorado to Harve and Muline (Bell) Adamson. She attended school in Holly, Colorado until she moved with her family to Missouri in 1952. She graduated from Lathrop High School in 1954.

Jo Ann married Arthur D. Smith on August 29, 1954. Their son, Arthur D Smith, Jr. was born October 29, 1955. Jo Ann spent the next 17 years raising her son and then began working in a medical office and attending college part-time in Joplin, Missouri.

She moved back to Colorado in 1978 and attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1981.

Jo Ann moved to Denver, Colorado in 1981 and worked as a certified public accountant at a small Denver firm for 27 years.

After she retired in 2008, she moved to Loveland, Colorado.

Jo Ann enjoyed traveling, playing the piano, gardening, and spending time with family.

She was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of CPAs of which she was a life-time member.

She is survived by her son, Arthur D. Smith, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Joplin, MO; brothers, Bill Adamson and wife Shirley of Kersey, CO, and John Adamson and wife, Bonnie of Fort Collins, CO; sisters, Ida Adamson of Casper, WY, Linda Hodge and husband Cal of Paso Robles, CA, and Mary Adamson of Columbus, GA. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Shelly Smith of St. Louis, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Amsden; and two brothers, Hugh and Jim Adamson.
