Kieth was a longtime member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He learned how to become a new creature in Jesus Christ and was truly walking with Jesus. He lived a life of service, tending to the sick and helping them gain better health.
As a lifelong learner, he attended AW Spaulding Elementary and Collegedale Academy in Collegedale, Tennessee. His higher education began at Southern Missionary College, where he studied abroad for a year in Bogenhofen, Austria, learning German along the way. He went on to medical school at Loma Linda University and completed his residency at a family practice in Hinsdale, Illinois. For most of his life, Kieth was an Emergency Room Doctor. Later in life, he worked as a Lifestyle Medicine Doctor and Medical Director at Eden Valley Health Institute in Loveland, Colorado.
Born in Trinidad, Colorado on March 8, 1957, Kieth was the son of Charles & Peggy Schleifer, who precede him in death. He was a happy person who loved adventure. His love for the outdoors and the mountains began early on. He enjoyed downhill skiing and was a certified skiing instructor. He loved mountain climbing, having summited 54 out of 58 Colorado 14ers. He remained active throughout his life. He also enjoyed quiet comforts at home such as board games and train sets. Keith loved seeing the world. As a cruise ship doctor and a missionary, he travelled to Estonia, Lithuania, Chile, Peru, Russia, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and others. Kieth was good to life, and the world and life was good to him.
In June of 1982, Kieth married Kathlyn Crook, the love of his life. They were wed at McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church in Collegedale. Kate & Kieth were blessed with three daughters: Stephanie, Summer, and Julie. Kieth loved his family and loved life to the fullest. He was calm, cool, and collected. He not only loved but valued his daughters highly and held a deep appreciation for their husbands. He loved playing games with his grandchildren, both indoors and outdoors.
Kieth loved serving others medically and being with his family. He really enjoyed those grandchildren! Kieth was loved by many and will truly be missed!
Left to carry on his memory are his wife Kate Schleifer; daughters Stephanie Lozensky (Thad), Summer Cronin (Scott), and Julie Reynolds (Daniel); and his eight grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Jan Schleifer and his brother Jon Schleifer (Joy), and his stepmother Rae Miller, as well as many dear friends.
