

Larry James Caldwell, 84, died on December 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Myrtle Jones Caldwell of Gary, Indiana, brother Alfred Caldwell, sister, Jane Hagen and wife Kay Ellen Browning Caldwell. Larry leaves one brother; Frank Lloyd Caldwell of Grand Junction, Colorado, four children; Jeff Caldwell of Silt, Colorado, Brad Caldwell of San Juan Capistrano, California, Kelly Caldwell of Playa del Carmen Mexico and Kim Goodwin of Westminster, Colorado, six grand children and five great grand children.
Larry graduated from Colorado State University before moving to Denver where he worked for Montgomery Wards and met his soon to be wife Kay. A few years after the Caldwell’s moved to Ft. Collins in 1969, Larry began working at Colorado State University in the College of Liberal Arts as the Financial Officer. He was a member of the Elks Club, volunteer driver for the elderly and served as a Deacon and an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Collins.
Larry participated in wrestling in high school and college and enjoyed all sports; following CSU athletics as a dedicated fan. He took up golf in his 30’s and went on to start his own golf club business, KWell Golf, after retiring from the university in 1991. With a large circle of friends, Larry and Kay enjoyed dinner and dancing, golf outings and vacations to warm destinations.
Larry was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a compassionate caregiver for his brother Alfred, sister Jane, mother in law, Betty and wife Kay. He was a loving and supportive father, a trusted friend and a compassionate volunteer. Known for his kind demeanor, friendly spirit, and willingness to help, Larry’s great spirit will endure in the hearts and minds of everyone whose lives he touched.
A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 28th, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Collins, 31 S. College Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80524; Glen Perica officiating.
