

Leland Andersen of Loveland died on March 3, 2011 at the McKee Medical Center Hospice Unit in Loveland. He was born on June 20, 1935 in Audubon County, Iowa to Marinus and Beulah (Barrett) Andersen. He graduated from Exira High School and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy. On June 3, 1962, he married Beulah D. Grove in Guthrie Center, Iowa. They lived in Nevada, Iowa, until moving to Loveland in 1977. He worked for Hach Company from 1966 until his retirement in 2002. Leland enjoyed mountain climbing and had climbed all of the 14er's in Colorado after reaching the age of 50. He was an avid bicyclist who could fix anything. He was a member of the Front Range Baptist Church and the Christian Business Men's Association. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Beulah Andersen of Loveland; sons, Anthony (Julie) Andersen of Aurora, Timothy (Jamie) Andersen of Woodland Park, and Matthew Andersen of Highlands Ranch; a brother, Walter (Marlagene) Andersen of Perry, IA; sisters, Elna (Harold) Nissen of Harlan, IA and Janet (Robert) Magers of Council Bluffs, IA; and four grandchildren, Gunnar Andersen, Logan Andersen, Mason Andersen, and Clare Andersen.Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Front Range Baptist Church. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
