Born on August 4, 1930 to Harold and Maude Bonser of Crook Colorado, Lola grew up on her grandparents’ homestead in Crook, Colorado. She helped her father tend cattle and later sheep, as well as harvesting the fields. Lola graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1948. She delivered telegrams on her bicycle after graduating high school. She also worked at Woolworths dime store and at CSU Braiden Hall where she was line lady for breakfast and lunch. Lola found great enjoyment in coordinating the Senior Nutrition Program at the Bellevue and Wellington Senior Centers for many years. She scheduled trips, luncheons and dinners through the Volunteers of America meal program. She was an animal lover, enjoyed gardening, was a talented painter, and enjoyed a wide variety of crafts. Lola married the love of her life, Ivan Cook on November 7, 1949. They were happily married for over 50 years. They enjoyed camping with friends in their motorhome.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband and is survived by dear friends and extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 13th at 11:00 am at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Fort Collins.
