Loree Ellen Darling

Loree Ellen Darling, 71, of Loveland, passed away on June 20, 2009 at the McKee Medical Center Hospice Unit in Loveland. She was born on November 7, 1937 in Gillette, WY, to Kenneth Ray and Joy Ann (Moore) Harrod. She received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. She married Donald Darling in Sonora, CA, on June 3, 1960. Loree worked at the Western Wyoming Community College Outreach Center in Rawlins, WY. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Loveland, the University Women of Wyoming, the Red Hat Society of UMC, the Deborah Circle of the UMC, the High Plains Adult Education Association, and the National Association of Realtors. Loree enjoyed working on home improvements, gardening, sewing and she was an excellent cook. She became Don's ""left hand"" after his stroke and was involved in many wood working projects. She is survived by her husband, Don Darling of Loveland; a son, Jim Darling of Denver; a daughter Leah (Marvin) Roberts of Thornton; brothers, Dean Harrod and Kenneth (Joyce) Harrod, both of Edgemont, SD; sisters, Ardis Harrod of Gillette, WY and Irma Harrod of Edgemont, SD; and grandchildren, John and Christina Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Resthaven Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service in our chapel.
