Lorri Jones, born in Mott, ND, passed away on the afternoon of March 2, 2020, at home and surrounded by loved ones. She was 57. She lived through a long and hard fought battle with cancer that started as melanoma and metastasized to her brain.
Lorri graduated from Mott High School, and continued her education having received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business as well as an MBA at Regis University. Her career path included employment at NCR, working as a real estate professional, and most recently as a Paraprofessional for Poudre School District.
Lorri had many interests, including a love for animals. She enjoyed riding horses in her younger years and provided loving homes to several cats and dogs throughout her lifetime. Quality time with loved ones was always a source of joy and entertainment for her. In the summer, shopping for treasures at flea markets and thrift stores was a regular occurrence. Furthermore, Lorri spoke fondly of her visits with her in-laws on their farm in Ohio, which she frequently said was one of her most relaxing vacations. Annual trips to Mott to celebrate the Hettinger County Fair and watch the demolition derby was also a tradition that Lorri and her family will hold close to their hearts. Along with caring for family, Lorri had countless friends that touched her life, and playing Bunco every month with neighbors was something she cherished for many years. She also enjoyed traveling, hiking, skiing, and evenings watching American Ninja Warrior.
Two of the most memorable days in Lorri’s life were the day she married Darrell, and the day that Olivia was born. Lorri will be remembered as a caring wife, mother, sister, and daughter.
