

Margene Ashburn, 86, of Fort Collins died on Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Rehab and Nursing Center of the Rockies. She was born on January 15, 1925 in Romulus, Alabama to Henry L. and Mattie D. (Ray) Partrich. She attended the University of Alabama. In 1944, she married Nolan Ashburn in Sparta, TN. She lived in Denver from 1954 until 1995, when she moved to Fort Collins.
Margene was a devoted homemaker, loving mother and an exemplary grandmother. She was very selfless with her love for her family. She was an avid bridge player and a Life Master ACBL member. Margene loved to travel and was fortunate to visit many places across the globe; however, Las Vegas was one of her favorite places. She was a member of the Mile High China Guild in Denver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. She is survived by sons, Mike (Sheree) Ashburn of Parker and Jon Ashburn of Fort Collins; daughters, Vicki (Rick) Rhoden of Fort Collins and JoAnn (Jay) Findley of Camas, WA; a brother, Maurice Partrich of Blountstown, FL; 9 grandchildren, Stacey, Stephanie, Brian, Jennifer, Julie, Michelle, Michael, Ryan, and Emily; and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of the Rockies and Pathways Hospice for the loving care they gave to Margene. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends and was a very special lady.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Inurnment Resthaven Memory Gardens. A reception will follow at the Resthaven Reception Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
