

Margradel Dooley Pendleton, 94, a resident of Loveland Good Samaritan Retirement Village for the past 7 ½ years and formerly a resident of Peoria, Illinois for 61 years, died peacefully on Saturday evening, April 18, 2009 at Loveland Good Samaritan Village where she had been lovingly cared for in recent years by the staff in Health Care.She was born December 31, 1914 in Normal, Illinois to Clyde and Hazel Crumbaugh Dooley. She received a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University in 1936 and taught elementary school in both Hudson and Mansfield, Illinois.Margradel married her high school sweetheart, John H. Pendleton, in Leroy, Illinois on June 4, 1939. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2004 after nearly 65 years of marriage.A life-long member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois, she was active in the Presbyterian Women's Organization and Ruth Circle in her younger days. After relocating to Loveland in December of 2001 to be near family, she found a church home in the worship services held in Loveland Good Samaritan's beautiful chapel.Margradel is survived by her sister, Geraldine Dooley Meeker, who resides at Loveland Good Samaritan Village. Also surviving are her daughter, Diana Pendleton Wade and husband Gary of Loveland, Colorado; her granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Rose and husband Michael of Frederick, Colorado; and her precious great-granddaughters, Abby and Sarah Rose of Frederick, Colorado.Cremation has been conducted and Mrs. Pendleton's cremated remains will be inurned in Oak Grove Cemetery in Leroy, Illinois. Graveside services will be conducted in Leroy at a later date. A memorial celebration of her gentle life, well-lived, will be held for family and friends in the Spiritual Life Center (Chapel) at Loveland Good Samaritan Village on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the Loveland Good Samaritan Village in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
