

Marjorie Jones, a resident of Denver, passed away February 14, 2010 at Porter Adventist Hospital from complications of pneumonia. She was born on July 14, 1916 in Gravity, IA, to Frank and Iva (Shepherd) Johnson. Marjorie's parents homesteaded to Colorado when she was 2 years old, living on a farm south of Fleming, CO. Marjorie attended and graduated in 1937 from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she met and later married Clarence Jones in 1940. She received her Master's Degree in Education from Adams State College. From 1959 â?? 1974 the Jones' lived in Alamosa, CO where Marjorie taught first grade at Central Elementary School. Earlier homes included Palisade and Collbran, CO. Marjorie and her husband retired in Loveland, CO, where Clarence passed away in 1988. In 1995, Marjorie moved to Albuquerque, NM, and lived there for 9 years to be closer to her daughter Janice and older brother Howard. She later returned to Colorado and resided in Denver.Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a grandson, Kenny. She is survived by a daughter, Janice; two sons, Terry and Morris; two grandsons, Chris and Treavor; a sister, Ruth Hinde, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
