Mark Joseph Kessler

Mark Joseph Kessler, 58, of Fort Collins, died on January 17, 2008 at Hospice of Larimer County at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Born on September 10, 1949 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Herbert and Carolyn (Bodenschatz) Kessler. In 1981, he moved to Fort Collins with his wife Judith.A meticulous craftsman, Mark first started working in construction as a teen, working at companies including Major Builders Inc, in Johnstown, PA and Sinnett Builders Inc, in Fort Collins. In 1990, he founded Kessler Construction Co, Inc, a general contracting firm specializing in water and fire restoration. His son, Mark R., has been working with him for the past 12 years.He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn (Bodenschatz) Kessler. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Clark); his son, Mark R., and his wife, Ann (Hartoon), of Fort Collins; his daughter, Jacqueline, and her husband, Billy Kelly, of Lewisburg, PA; his father, Herbert, and his wife Eva (Stahr); six brothers, Daniel, Paul, Gene, David, James and Robert; four sisters, Catherine, Margaret, Mary and Karen; and four granddaughters, Melody, Allison, Jane, and Lilliana. Exceptionally dedicated, honest and hardworking, Mark was well-loved by many. He was active in many trade organizations, among them: the National Association of Home Builders, Colorado Association of Home Builders, the Remodelors Council, and Home Builders Association of Northern Colorado. Mark loved to travel, and visited 49 of the 50 states, Canada and Mexico. He also was an avid trout fisherman and Denver Bronco fan.Burial and visitation will be at Resthaven Cemetery at 8426 South Highway 287, in Ft. Collins. Friends will be received from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 20 and Monday, January 21. A service will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 533 North Grant Avenue, in Loveland, on Tuesday, January 22 at 10:00 am.
