Miriam was such a lovely person. She had a heart of gold and shared her faith easily. She will be missed horribly.

My childhood memories of my grandmother were all you’d expect of a good grandmother. She was kind, she spoiled us, sang to us, and told us how special we were. They are good memories. But like many childhood memories, my perception back then lacked in depth. She was my grandma, much like the grandmas my friends had too. I did not realize then, how special she really was.
It was not until I moved to Colorado, in my late 20s, that I actually got to know her. My family visited once or twice each year while I was growing up. Once I moved out on my own, I didn’t visit as much. It may have been several years even, since I last visited with my Grandmother. I moved to Colorado, and I started working at The Fig Leaf. I got to see my grandma 5 days out of the week, all day. Immediately, she seemed different than when I was a child. She was absolutely adorable! Her kindness, her thoughtfulness, was in everything she did, and said. I didn’t think people like her really existed until then! She cared. About everyone, friend, stranger, and foe alike. (If she had foes…but I’m pretty sure she did not). She cared about how your day was, she cared about catching up with you, and she actually cared that you had, “A good rest of your day” when she bid you goodbye.

I never heard her speak ill of anyone. Not even once. She could find grace for even the worst of us. What she spent her words on most, was lifting others up. Anything from telling a customer getting fabric cut that they, “Have good taste”, and oo-ing and awe-ing over their finished projects, to raving about others’ talents and accomplishments, encouraging those talents endlessly, to just listening, to telling jokes, to comforting hurts, to reminding someone of their value.
She attributed it all to something greater than herself, saying more and more frequently in her last years, “God is Good”.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I know you and Rob will miss her presence in your lives. I’ve always known Aunt Miriam to be a kind and gentle person. She always had that special smile for us when we visited. I have always admired her devotion to Uncle Glenn and your family. I know she is in a better place and reunited with Uncle Glenn. In the summer of 2019, Crystal and I were so happy we got to visit with your Mom and Dad. It was a trip we will never forget. We are praying that your hearts will heal knowing that she is in heaven with God and beside her husband.

Miriam was such a loving, caring person.  She always had a smile when we came into the store.  She and I shared memories of Kansas and she always wanted to know about the farms I own there.  We all know we have been very blessed to have known her.  I'm sure the family knows how  much we care about them in this time of loss.

We were sad to hear about Aunt Miriam's passing, but we know she is with her sweetheart, our Uncle Glenn.  She had the biggest heart and her love shown through to everyone who knew her.  We always enjoyed being with her, and she had a way of making us feel loved and special.

One of our fun memories is when she and Uncle Glenn moved to Ft. Collins.  She had to wear snow boots with her dress to go house hunting during a spring storm and I never heard her complain.  She always kept her sense of humor and it was contagious.

She was very proud of all of her wonderful family and she was blessed to have them close by and always willing to be there for both her and Uncle Glenn.  We'll miss her, but her spirit and her smile will stay with us forever.

Miriam was a wonderful delightful woman. She was always kind and interested in the projects I was attempting with encouragement and guidance. Miriam will be missed each time I walk into the Fig Leaf. I enjoyed her sense of humor. She did love her chocolate. Thank You Miriam for being a friend. Peace, Patty Taylor
