It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Moises Bautista Trejo, who lost his life in a work-related accident on January 28, 2026.
His sudden departure has left us all in a state of shock and profound heartbreak. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, his memory will live on in our hearts forever. To those who knew him, Moises was the definition of a hardworking and selfless man who gave generously to everyone around him.
Moises was born on September 6, 1980, in Jofre, Queretaro, Mexico, to Juan Pueblito Bautista and Maria Pueblito Trejo Cuellar (Ma Pue). The youngest of eight siblings, Moises lost his father at the age of three and was raised under the watchful eye of his brothers, with whom he loved playing soccer. In 1998, at the age of 17, he moved to the United States to build a life defined by devotion to his family. On February 21, 2014, he married the love of his life, Sonia Torres Vega, in Fort Collins, Colorado.
A dedicated Fence Laborer by profession, Moises was a humble and kindhearted "people person" who never met a stranger. He was always ready to strike up a conversation or lend a helping hand without hesitation. As a father and friend, he was honest, funny, and a source of great advice. He loved to tease his family and friends, always bringing humor and light to those around him.
Moises found his greatest joy in the simple things: spending time with his children, enjoying Sunday morning breakfasts at Denny’s, watching soccer games and Western movies, playing cards, and trying his luck with lottery scratch-offs. He never complained and worked tirelessly to ensure his children had the very best in life.
He is survived by his wife, Sonia Torres Vega; his children, Jesus, Janet, David, Ariel, and Dyllan; his mother, Ma Pue; and his siblings, Juan, Yolanda, Jose Luis, Gerardo, Mary, Eliazar, and David Bautista. He also leaves behind his close friends and relatives, Mario Soto, Guadalupe Gutierrez, Juan Arajo, Benjamin Guerrero, and Mariano Anaya. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Pueblito Bautista.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home in Fort Collins. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm.
Moises was the main provider for his family, and his unexpected loss has left them devastated. To honor his wish to be laid to rest in Mexico, the family is facing significant emotional and financial challenges regarding funeral, transportation, and burial expenses.
