

Passing of a long-time resident of Jackson County, Colorado.Neville Baugh, 96, passed away on October 16, 2008, at Cedars Care Center, Lakewood, CO. He was born November 24, 1911 in Birch Tree, MO to John Robert and Emma Alice (Morrell) Baugh. He attended a one-room school with a total of 10-12 children in grades 1-8. He went to South Dakota in 1929 to find work and met the love of his life. He married Alma Hazel ""Babe"" Schaefer in Canton, SD on December 10, 1932.Neville and Babe moved back to Birch Tree, MO where their first two children were born, Charles ""Sonny"" Robert Baugh, and Arthur ""Bud"" Leroy Baugh. The family then moved to Gould, CO in 1938 to work in the timber industry and stayed for 68 years. Two more children, Earl Duane Baugh and Barbara Jean Baugh, were born after they moved to Colorado.He started out cutting timber with a one-man crosscut saw, and then was the woods boss for 10 years before buying and operating his own log truck until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and travel besides cheering for the Rockies and Broncos. He was very active in the Odd Fellows and Lions Club. After moving to Edgewater, CO in 2004 to live with his daughter, he enjoyed going with her to bowling, softball games, and many CU women's basketball games. His favorite things were visiting with friends and spending time with his family.Neville was preceded in death by his loving wife Babe in 1993, his son Bud in 2002, his son Earl in 2004, twin granddaughters in 1960, daughter-in-law Linda in 2006 as well as 3 brothers and 5 sisters.He is survived by, son Charles ""Sonny"" R. (Anne) Baugh of Walden, CO; daughter Barbara Smith Valle of Edgewater, CO; 6 grandchildren, Leslie Baugh of Walden, CO, Robby Baugh of Laramie, WY., Connie (Mark) Fauble, of Martinsburg, WV, Earl (Trisha) Baugh, Jr. of Alpharetta, GA, Kim (Dan) Giesler of Elmore, OH and Kevin D. (Cindy) Smith of Bennett, CO; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren, Denise Lundin Kauffman, OH, Rick Lundin of Loveland, CO, Melvin (Dena) Weaver of Grand Junction, CO, Merle (Patty) Weaver of Grand Junction, CO, Steve (Lori) Patterson of Lakewood, CO, and Stuart (Cassie) Patterson of Parachute, CO; 15 step-great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Pat Baugh of Grand Junction, CO; sisters Velma Keffer of Las Cruces, NM and Mildred Allen of Bronson, KS plus many nieces and nephews as well as a host of many friends.Memorial services will be held on November 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the North Park Community Church in Walden, CO. Burial will be at the Jackson County Cemetery north of Walden. Dinner will be served in the church basement following the services. Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens in Fort Collins is in charge of arrangements.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Mountain Valley Bank, PO Drawer 758, Walden, CO 80480 for North Park Medical Clinic in memory of Neville A. Baugh.
