Celebrating a Life of Fierce Spirit, Love, and Resilience
With heavy hearts and grateful memories, we announce the passing of Pat Loomis, aged 74, of Fort Collins, Colorado. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Pat’s journey was marked by an unwavering independence, a fiery spirit, and a life beautifully lived. Her story is one of resilience, laughter, and love—a beacon for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Early Life and Family
Pat entered the world in Detroit, Michigan, the first beloved daughter of Shirley and David Loomis. Though she had no children of her own, Pat’s nurturing heart found its purpose in helping to raise her cherished niece, Nicole Pilato, and nephew, David Felton, alongside her devoted sister, Susan Loomis, and her mother Shirley. Family gatherings and vacations were a tapestry of warmth and joy, woven together by Pat’s guiding hand.
Pat’s legacy lives on through her loving sister Susan Loomis, her niece Nicole Pilato, her nephew David Felton, and her Aunt Kathy Malinowski. She is reunited in peace with her dear parents, Shirley and David Loomis, and the love of her life Herbert “Curt” Enoch, whose love continues to shine through those who remain.
Pat was the matriarch of her family—a force of nature whose strength and independence inspired everyone around her. Fierce yet gentle, she approached life with a bold heart and an open hand, always ready to support, encourage, and protect. Her resilience was legendary, weathering life’s storms with grace and an unbreakable spirit.
Passions and Triumph That Defined a Life
Pat’s love of travel took her across the United States all her life and lately across continents, especially throughout Europe, where she created unforgettable memories with her family. Her compassion extended to the world of rescue dogs—her heart belonged to every soul she saved. She supported the National Mill Dog Rescue, adopting many dogs and giving them the loving home they deserved.
Her garden bloomed as vibrantly as her personality, a testament to her artistry and care. Pat also excelled as a bookkeeper, dedicating herself to her craft until her recent retirement. She found joy in connecting with loved ones over brunches, holiday celebrations, family vacations, lively games, and stories—the simple moments that mattered most.
In the last year, Pat triumphed over cancer, demonstrating her determination and courage. She was declared cancer-free just weeks before her peaceful passing, a final victory that epitomized her indomitable will.
