She joins her siblings, parents, several friends, and beloved animals in the spiritual realm. Peggie was ready to transition and was able to do so peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
She grew up in Ithaca, New York with four brothers: Chuck, Bill, “Bussy”, and Jerry. Boys were not a mystery to her. She was the daughter of Margaret and Charles Weigand. Growing up she found her passion for horses, and after graduating from Ithaca High School, she traveled to Ireland to attend horse mastership school.
Upon her return to Ithaca, she met her future husband, Michael Kolesar, and they moved out to Colorado. There she got a B.S. degree in psychology from Colorado State University. She and Mike married in 1977, and welcomed three beautiful daughters: Lisa, Andrea, and Krista. She was later mother-in-law to Jake and Cory; and Oma to Piper and Isla. Peggie raised her daughters to be strong, independent women with a voice. All of her daughters are thriving, successful adults who bring kindness into this world.
Continuing with her love for horses and being a “country girl”, she started PK Ranch. At one point had up to 18 horses she was caring for before dissolving the ranch and moving to Idaho. She became more and more interested in metaphysics, and eventually earned a master’s degree in this topic. Peggie was an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction. She greatly enjoyed spending hours on the phone talking to friends and family, counseling them through various changes and life lessons they were going through, offering them her advice and providing them needed support, even if it was just someone to talk to. So many of her friends felt Peggie was an integral person who helped them heal through difficult times. Her presence in this dimension will be missed. She was loved.
A Celebration of Peggie's Life will take place on Sunday, July 27th, 2025 from 10am - 2pm at Fossil Creek Lake Pavilion in Fort Collins. Please RSVP with intention to attend here: evite.me/j6s7jvx3mT
