Preceded in death by her husband Willis Dean Rase. Born August 29, 1932, died May 3rd,

Survived by her brother, 4 Children and 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Rae was an active athlete as a child. Loving sports so much she even tried to play on the boys’ teams in high school. Rae was also an exceptional ice skater. She loved the Ice! After high school she attended nursing school where she received her registered nursing certificate.

She met her husband Willis (Bud) in Bangor Maine roller skating. Bud was in the Airforce stationed in Bangor.

While living in Bangor, Maine, their first son, David was born. Shortly thereafter, Bud was transferred to California and stationed in San Bernardino.

After the Air Force they moved back to Bud’s home state and started farming. 2 more children (James and Penny) were born here, but it was time to move on. Bud then decided to move away from Nebraska to Fort Collins Colorado.

In Fort Collins their youngest daughter Debra was born. Rae started work at Poudre Valley Hospital and still raised all 4 kids!

Rae was a pioneer in women’s management. While raising 4 children she was a registered nurse at several hospitals and nursing homes including Poudre Valley Memorial in Fort Collins and North Eventide Nursing Home. Later she progressed to director of nursing and ultimately to VP for ARA corporation where she managed several facilities.

Later in life Rae relocated to Florida to be closer to her daughters and warmer weather.

Rae was a tough East Coast Maine girl. She was not going to be told what to do by anyone. She lived her life how she wanted on her terms. She was tough, but fair. She was loved and loved her husband and children. May she rest in peace.
