Richard was born in Chicago and attended the Armour College of Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
He served in the Navy for 2 years during World War 2 as an Electronic Technician's Mate Petty officer 3rd Class, and then was in the Naval Reserve after his Honorable discharge.
Richard worked for Magnaflux Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer for many years and after retirement from there, he taught math courses at a community college in Chicago. He wrote a book on Making Physics Easy as a tool for anyone to help understand Physics.
He was survived by his son, Tom, daughter Diane, Son-in-law, Bill, grandchildren, Tyler, Mandy, Jordan and Natalie and his great grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, William, Jacob and Lydia.
Richard moved from Park Ridge, IL to Fort Collins, CO three years ago to live with his daughter and enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center where he would do laps around the gym and have coffee. He suffered a brief illness and passed away shortly after.
His family would like him to be remembered for: meeting with friends at Starbucks, love for ballroom dancing, walking to the Park Ridge Library, intelligent conversations and his witty personality. Know he was surrounded with loves at his bedside and his death was a peaceful one.
