Roxie L. Matthews

A Memorial Service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Ft Collins, CO on September 16th. No Visitation will be held.

Roxie is survived by her husband, Robert Matthews of Loveland, CO; daughter, Dawn (Joe) Tarbox of Otho, IA; son, David (Lois) Mogler of Brighton, CO; step-daughter, Jennifer (Doug) Pearce, of Denver, CO, step-daughter, Melynda (Brent) McVeigh of Denver, CO; Seven grandchildren, Heath Tarbox of Ft. Carson, CO, Audra Tarbox of Ft. Dodge, IA, Ashley (Ryan) King of Spencer, IA, Brandon Pearce of Denver, CO and Joshua, Jeremy and Joseph Mogler of Brighton, CO; Two great grandchildren, Bryar and Brynlee King. Roxie is also survived by her sister, Mildred Thorsbakken and brother, Robert Schaffer.

She was preceded in death by her parents Myrtle (Fosnaugh) and Richard Schaffer, sister, Fern Thompson, sister, Alice Shipler and brother, Richard Schaffer.

Roxie was born on September 6, 1945 in Algona, IA. She graduated from Algona High School. She married Duane Mogler of Whittemore, IA in June of 1957. They later divorced. Roxie married Robert Matthews in June of 1998 in Loveland, CO. She worked for Snap-On Tools in Algona, drove school buses for Algona School District, drove trucks for Pioneer Seeds Algona and worked as an inspector for NCR, Ft Collins, CO.

She loved the mountains, her horses, her dog (Lacy), reading, camping, fishing and traveling with Robert and her family. Roxie cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
