Scott was a man of incredible integrity and great intellect. He loved deeply and lived honestly. He was known to many as a hard worker and a successful businessman. He will be remembered for his kind nature and gentle spirit.
The son of Robert and Marlene Hall, Scott was born on July 6, 1957. His life began in Cedar Falls, Iowa but he grew up in Aurora, Illinois. His mother and father were both teachers, so the family spent their summers together at a Lake Cabin in Northern Wisconsin. Scott attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado for two years before transferring to Colorado University in Boulder to complete his college education.
Following his graduation from CU, Scott began a lifelong career as a petroleum engineer, eventually becoming CEO of his own Oil & Gas Company. A member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Scott was well known and well respected in the oil & gas community. In addition to his responsibilities as an engineer and CEO, Scott was also a Distinguished Lecturer for the industry. He traveled extensively, educating other countries on various methods of oil & gas exploration. He retired in 2013. Scott was proud of what he had accomplished in his professional life. His greatest accomplishment, however, and his truest passion was his family.
Scott met the love of his life when he was 18 years old. He married Lisa Bletcher in Arvada, Colorado on September 1st, 1979, and they remained happily so for more than 45 years. He loved Lisa with his whole heart and always made sure she knew how much he loved her. Together they welcomed four beautiful children. Scott’s family was his world. He was so supportive of his wife and children. He cheered his kids on in all that they did and was truly proud of each of them. He was delighted to become a grandfather and followed his grandsons’ activities with great excitement and even greater pride. Scott was always there for his family.
Scott led an active life. He was always in the best of health and was truly a beast among men. During his college years, he wrestled for the AFA and was a ski instructor at Winter Park, working mostly with the visually impaired. He loved to ski and was an expert skier. He coached soccer and loved running and biking. He was always working in his yard and took great pride in its perfection. He enjoyed getting together with friends and playing Euchre. He loved to travel with Lisa, and with his family. He cherished every moment spent with his beautiful wife, his wonderful kids, and his grandkids, whom he absolutely adored. He is already dearly missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
Scott leaves behind the only woman he ever loved, his wife Lisa Hall; children Erin Griffin (Travis), Brett Hall (Brandy), and Dylan Hall; and his grandchildren Tate, Mason, Carter, & Easton Griffin, and Carson Hall. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Hall; brothers-in-law Kurt Bletcher and Michael Bletcher; sisters-in-law Cheryl Bletcher and Carla Bletcher; nephews Grant, Brad, Adam, and Ian; and nieces Lauren and Jami. He is preceded in death by his parents and by his son, Zachary “Zach” “Sweet Z” Hall.
Services will be held privately. Treasured memories of Scott and words of condolence for his family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
