Terry McLeod

A Colorado native, Terry was born in Denver on November 22nd, 1961 to Mary Gutting and Larry Witcher. Years later, Mary was remarried to Allen McLeod, and Allen later legally adopted Terry. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Northern Colorado. There, he balanced a rigorous Business curriculum with the discipline of competitive swimming.

Terry lived a life characterized by hard work and a love for the fast lane. He turned that drive into a successful 30-year career in the automotive industry, becoming a respected manager at local staples like Pedersen Toyota and Fort Collins Dodge. He eventually transitioned to a role at Hach, where he remained a valued colleague until his death.

In 1987, Terry married Kelly Howie in Fort Collins, and together they welcomed a son, Devin. After ten years of marriage, they parted ways. Terry later remarried Kara Carlson and the two spent twenty years together before eventually separating.

Throughout his life, Terry was known for his love of speed and the outdoors. In his younger years, he could often be found at the lake on his jet ski, racing fast cars, enjoying the Colorado sun, and working on his suntan. As the years passed, his greatest joy shifted toward his family. He was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, regardless of the occasion.

His legacy lives on through his son, Devin McLeod; his daughter-in-law Liliana; and his three grandchildren, Alexandra, Joana, and Levi. He is also survived by his sister, Ann McLeod. He joins his late parents, Mary & Allen McLeod, and Larry Witcher, and his nephew Blake Peters, in eternal rest.

Terry's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21st, 2026 at 11am at Cornerstone Church in Johnstown. Please join Terry's family for a Get Together, after the service, to share stories & memories, and to celebrate Terry’s life.
