Born on October 23rd 1943, to a Nebraska ranch couple, Venita early learned the importance of hard work. As one of three daughters, Venita drove large tractors, to cut hay in large fields. She was active in the 4H Club.
Her God-given gift of administration served her well throughout her entire life. She was purpose-driven, project-oriented, with a desire for excellence in her performance at all her activities. She definitely was a problem-solver, and a very good one at that. God blessed her in the administration of many, many jobs and ministries throughout her long life. She demonstrated unusual administration skills as an effective leader, in every one of the following jobs and ministries:
1. Director of Children Ministries (10 years)
2. Home Daycare Business (8 years)
3. Multiple Involvements as Pastor’s Wife (27 years)
4. Founder and Developer of Christian Day School (8 years)
5. Founder and Developer of Elder Care Business (22 ½ years)
6. Curriculum Researcher of Preschool (11 years)
7. Administrator of Rental Properties (40 years)
8. Preparing and Serving Thousands of Meals (50+ years)
9. Graduate from Greenville College (Art Education major – 4 years)
Venita was a devout and love-filled follower of Jesus Christ. She was an earnest prayer warrior, a diligent reader of Scripture, a faithful church attender, a winsome witness to her faith, a generous giver to the cause of God’s kingdom, a wise counselor to hurting ones. She loved fellow Christians and she cherished her family and her friends. She loved to cook meals, and she loved to host in her well-ordered home. She was a lover of nature (especially observing many different birds), and she loved cultivating numerous flowers and plants. Venita, as an artist, viewed all of her life through her artistic temperament.
She knew Jesus as the most beautiful person in the universe. Her relationship with Jesus was real and constant! She prayed to Jesus often, and with great naturalness and spontaneousness.
Venita was no stranger to pain and heartache, but she experience the solace and comfort of God’s Spirit, amidst her multiple trials and tests. She found God’s healing grace to be sufficient during the dark times of her life (Praise God!). All her earthly troubles are now over, and now she experiences eternal health, wholeness, joy and unspeakable peace.
Venita ran the Race of Life very well. God promises: “Be thou faithful until death, and I will give thee the crown of life.” Venita (in dying) has crossed the Finish Line. She now rejoices forever in God’s paradise.
Using the analogy of the Race of Life, Venita held her God-given baton tightly throughout her many-faceted life; she now passes her baton to the next generations – her children and grandchildren. The baton of love, joy, peace, endurance, kindness, persistent faith. She lived an exemplary life before her husband for many decades. May her husband (Ron) continue to carry that baton, and may her immediate family be also faithful in their Race of Life.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Darlene Berrong and Rhonda Graves; and grandchildren, Lucas Berrong, Megan Berrong, Medeleine Dodge, and William Dodge.
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.” (Quoted from Hebrew 12:1-2)
Notice: Venita chose NOT to have a formal funeral service, after she departed this earth. In light of this request, Venita’s husband (Ron) suggests that a personalized tribute be submitted to him by mail to either the Christian residence or to Allnutt Funeral Service-Drake Road Chapel (650 W. Drake Rd., Fort Collins, CO 80526). These written tributes of friends and relatives will be gathered and placed in a special album (and the written tributes will be interspersed with pictures of Venita).
