

He was born on April 8, 1936, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Lily and Albert Fray. He and his brother, Norman, were the first generation of their family born in the United States.
After graduating from high school, Warren enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954. He served on the heavy cruiser USS Macon and was a "plank owner" (original crew member) of the USS Forrestal, the Navy’s first supercarrier, commissioned in 1955. During his service, he traveled extensively through Europe and the Caribbean.
Following his military service, Warren earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He pursued a career with IBM, which eventually led the family West. Warren accepted a position as a manager at the IBM facility in Niwot, Colorado, establishing a new home base for the Fray family in the Centennial State.
Warren was a talented musician who played the clarinet, saxophone and the accordion, a skill he showcased both during his time in the Navy and throughout his civilian life. He was known for his fondness for Polka music and Oktoberfest celebrations. Additionally, Warren was an avid camper and motorhome enthusiast, enjoying cross-country travel with his children and later touring Colorado with his grandchildren.
Warren is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patty (Rousseau) Fray, whom he married on November 23, 1957 in Clifton, New Jersey. He is also survived by his daughter Sharon (Fray) Littleton, husband Steve Littleton and their children: Sarah Pope, husband Wael Kadry & their children Kaya Kadry & Gabriel Kadry, Rebecca Pope, and Sarah Littleton & her son Mason Peiper; and by his son Kenneth Fray, wife Jenifer (Link) Fray and their children: Jacob Fray & husband Charles Shisler, Garrett Fray and Katherine Fray.
