Wilber (Bill) Joseph Irelan, died on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Bill was born on August 17, 1938, to Wilber Alonzo Irelan and Donas Ellen Knatzar. Bill is survived by Leo and Julie Bayer; nieces and nephews Brenda and John Yocom, Doug and Debbie Bayer, Kerry and Lisa Bayer, Jeff and LeeAnn Bayer; great niece and nephew Kara Jo and Justin Nicholson and their children Jessi, Mason and Levi. Bill studied to be a Cistercian Monk, but God had other plans bringing his dear wife Juliana to him. They married in 1976. Juliana preceded him in death. Since Juliana’s death, Bill took in many homeless men giving them a Christian fresh start. He studied with the Carmelite Community making his Definite Promise in 2015 and his Vow in 2017. Bill was active in his Church with the Legion of Mary and Divine Mercy Cenacle. A Vigil Service will take place at Resthaven Funeral home Thursday, March 8, 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Joseph Church Friday, March 9, 9:30am. Interment will follow at Resthaven Funeral Home. Contributions in memory of Bill can be made to the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS of Saint Joseph).
