After 11 years of a very courageous and extremely inspiring fight with MS, our beloved Amy passed away very peacefully on April 6th. After suffering what we believe to be her first ever seizure, Amy spent the next 31 days in the hospital where she received incredible care and had her adoring family and dear friends in near constant presence with her. At her passing, Amy was literally surrounded by her devoted family and loved ones at her side. It was really quite beautiful, merciful, and perfect! Amy, you are now once again PERFECT! No MS to disrupt you any longer, our perfect girl! Amy was born in Anaheim CA, the last of four children. Seven years separated her from the youngest child and she was equally indulged and tormented by her older siblings"especially her brother. Amy was quite a cute baby and toddler and received a lot of attention from family and strangers alike. Even as an adult, Amy never met a stranger. She loved to chat up anyone who would engage her. She had several nicknames as a kid: Dubby, Amila Beeson, Amy Bacon, and simply Aim then and later in life. Early on, all of these nicknames may have worked to confuse her a bit, as once when asked by a stranger what her name was, Amy replied Dubby . She knew how to manipulate people. When Mom wouldnt give in to what Amy wanted, Amy would say, Well, youre not as pretty as Andreas mother. But when she was trying to sweet talk Mom, she would say, You have such a pretty face. And when she still didnt get her way, she would say, Then go to butt blazes!! And wow did she hate to lose at anything back then (well, that never changed really), but you did not want to play a game of Old Maid with Amy unless you wanted the full deck of cards thrown in your face! Amy graduated Canyon High School in 1992 and headed to Rancho Santiago College where she earned her Associates degree. She went on to Cal State Fullerton, and graduated in 1998 with a BA in Accounting and Economics. Amys life was not only enriched by earning her college degree, but also by finding love. She met her beloved fianc, Jeremy Rudometkin, through accounting classes at CSUF. The two of them spent 16 wonderful years together, Jeremy by her side each and every step of the way. Believe me when I say Amy and my family are incredibly lucky to have Jeremy in our lives. We love you Jer! Amy was always an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, dedicated and loyal fan of her Angels and Cowboys (both of which are her brothers favorite teams by the waygo figure) and with Jeremy, she loved UFC. The Canyon Inn was Amys home away from home, where she spent many a night with Jeremy, her brother and dear friends (including the wonderful staff at The Canyon--you guys rock!), throwing back a few Amstel Lights, all the while catching the game, laughing hard and busting everyones balls, in general. Although Amy worked in the business world as a post college grad, her fondest and most joyful memories were when she worked at Cocos restaurant as a waitress. She enjoyed laughing with the regular customers and meeting new people. Amy loved the interaction with people and joviality with the cooks and busboys. Many customers continued to send her cards and notes long after she left Cocos and she obviously made an impact on many lives. She also enjoyed winning the gimmicky competitions the restaurant had to encourage the servers to sell the most desserts, wines, etc. Amy was an animal lover, and she adored her two cats who were great company for her for many years. Her cats provided her with many laughs and fond memories. As a child, she had a pet Mallard duck named Fonzie who was her constant companion. The duck would follow her around the backyard and lie down next to her. The day after Amy passed away, Mom and Dad woke up to find a pair of Mallard ducks strolling side by side in their backyard. Amy has an amazing family and is survived by her parents William and Karen Harris, her sisters Monica Rovetto and Lisa Papin, her brother Geoff Harris, her fianc Jeremy Rudometkin, her two brothers-in-law, her sister-in-law, her cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends. We will keep Amy in the forefront of our thoughts forever! WE LOVE YOU AMY!!! VERY MUCH!!! YOU ARE PERFECT! Amy never once complained about having MS, nor did she feel sorry for herself in any way To Amys friends, hers and all those we share, the Hampels, the Scheerers, the Rudometkins, the Pilkingtons, the Canyon Inn, Kaiser Hospital " Anaheim, and I know that Ive forgotten a few others here You ALL are awesome people! Our entire family is forever grateful to you! Thank you ALL for making Amy truly HAPPY! Please share yourmemories to the obituary site.
