Bette Lou Mills

Bette Lou Mills, of Fullerton entered eternal life peacefully on September 22, 2015 in Yorba Linda, California. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martins de Porres Catholic Church in Yorba Linda. McAulay and Wallace Mortuary are handling the funeral arrangements. Bette was born in Fullerton on June 17, 1927 to James and Gladys Whitelock. She was raised in La Habra alongside her brother Jim. Bette went to Fullerton High School and graduated in 1945. She also attended Fullerton Junior College and Whittier College. It was at Fullerton High that Bette met the love of her life, William A. "Bill" Mills. They married on May 16, 1948. Together they raised two children, Scott and Diane. Bette was involved in many of Fullerton's Philanthropic Organizations such as The Assistance League of Fullerton, The Ebell Club and Las Damas de Caridad. Bette enjoyed spending her retirement years with Bill at their desert home in Rancho Mirage and traveling near and far in their motor home with friends. Her favorite place to spend time was at their beach house in San Clemente where many memories were made. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and loving demeanor that won the hearts of many. Her gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling and laughter will never be forgotten. Her husband, Bill Mills, precedes Bette in death. Bette is survived by her two children, Scott Mills (Jane) of Yorba Linda; Diane Mills Demmin (John) of Yorba Linda; and her five grandchildren, Erin Mills Gilder (Tyler), Alisa Demmin Zimmerman (Ryan), Alexa Demmin Ramey (Michael), Greg Mills and Kyle Demmin. She was blessed with six great grandchildren, Abigail and Grace Zimmerman, Cade, Landry and Blake Gilder and Lincoln Ramey. A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 1, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Yorba Linda, CA.
