

Chet was 85 years old at his passing, December 11th, 2025. Chet passed away peacefully at his home in Fullerton, CA. Chet and his wife Rose have lived in Fullerton since 1965.
Chet was born on August 22, 1940, in Lynch, Nebraska to Patrick and Alice Cassidy. He was brought up on the family farm. After graduating high school, Chet moved to San Diego, CA. where he lived with his brother and sister-n-law, Ted and Velma Cassidy. He attended San Diego State University. To support himself through college, he worked as a fire fighter for the Chula Vista, CA. fire department.
Chet met his future wife, Rosalie Baucom in 1960 in San Diego. They were married on February 24th, 1962. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. They had two sons and a daughter. Curtis Alan Cassidy was born in August 21st, 1962, Michael Dean Cassidy on October 1st, 1966, and Carri in 1971 who was stillborn.
After moving to Fullerton in 1965, Chet began working in fire protection and worked as a fire inspector for multiple insurance companies. Chet worked for Tokio Marine until he retired in 2023 at the age of 83. Chet took his job of making sure the workplace was safe very serious. His care for others really showed in how he took his job so seriously.
Chet’s hobbies included square dancing and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed being a grandfather and great grandfather.
Work and family were Chet’s passion. He focused on safety and security for those he protected through work as well as his family. He made sure he took care of his family and wife, Rose. He sacrificed much to make these things a reality. He was a simple and proud man.
Chester “Chet” Carl Cassidy is survived by his wife Rosalie Cassidy, sister Laura Loock (Bonnie) of O'Neill, Nebraska, son Curtis Cassidy and partner Paula Valdez of Brea, Ca. Grandchildren, Michael and Emilie Cassidy of Fort Irwin, Barstow, Ca, Jason and Nicole Cassidy of Yucaipa, Ca. and Katherine Meyers and Jimmy of Beaumont, Ca. Great grandkids, Logan Benjamin, Remington Lucille, and Paisely Mae Cassidy. God Daughter, Tracy Heine. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Proceeded in death by son and daughter, Michael and Carri Cassidy. Mother and father, Pat and Laice Cassidy. Brothers Ted and Duane Cassidy.
Funeral and Service Details: Viewing January 7th from 9:00am-11:00am. Service from 11:00-12:00 followed by a reception from 12:00-3:00pm. Graveside will be January 8th, 11:00am. Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary. 1702 Fairhaven Avenue. Santa Ana, CA 92705.
