Dorothy Jane Mayercheck

Dorothy met her husband, Charles Mayercheck, in high school and they were married on June 14, 1952 after he completed his service in the Navy. Family was always important to her and she was blessed with three children. The family moved to California in 1963 when Charles was transferred with his job. Summer vacations consisted of road trips back to Pennsylvania to visit their extended families. These scenic trips included a great deal of the country, but Dorothy enjoyed the time spent with her family the most. She was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word and maintained her heritage by cooking and baking dishes true to her Slovak roots. Her Catholic faith was also important to her as she was involved in her parish, St. Irenaeus in Cypress, participating in the Women’s Club and along with Charles even helped to run several major fundraisers for the parish. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow into caring and loving adults and starting their own families.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Mayercheck; sisters Lucille Onusko and Theresa Pocratsky; and brother Eugene Onusko. Dorothy is survived by her children: Robert (Coleen); Carleen Koscielak (David); and Curt (Penny). Five grandchildren: Kelley Maslin (Alex); Lisa Boyajian (Michael); Brian Koscielak (Francesca); Eric Koscielak (Nicole); and Laurie Baddon (Chris). And ten great-grandchildren: Luke, Olivia and Isabella Maslin; Madison and Harper Boyajian; Niccolo and Chiara Koscielak; Lucas Koscielak; Makena and Hayden Baddon.

A rosary will be recited on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 7:00pm (McAulay and Wallace Funeral Home, Fullerton). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at St. Juliana Falconieri Catholic Church, Fullerton at 10:00am with interment to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Parkinson's Foundation.
