

Hartmann, Edward, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 1st. Edward was born on April 21, 1936 to Wolfgang and Frances Hartmann in New York City. He spent his early life in New York, where he attended St. Ignatius Elementary, La Salle Academy and Manhattan College. After graduation, he went to California to work for North American Aviation, Autonetics, Rockwell International and Boeing for 43 years on aircraft, radar, space, Minuteman missile and National Missile Defense programs. He earned his MBA at USC. Edward was an active member of St. Joseph's Church, with St. Vincent de Paul, the FUTURE program, the Vietnamese Resettlement program, and as a member of the Pastoral Council. He participated in the AARP Tax Aide program for seniors. He enjoyed computers and staying in shape, especially through cycling (over 95,000 miles). His wife of 54 years, Suzanne, his daughters Mary (Walt Bradley), Lucy (Chris White) and Terri (Wayne Griffin), his son Dan (wife Valerie), his seven grandchildren, Kelly Hartmann, Russell Hartmann, Carl Hartmann, Jason White, Nathan White, Julia Griffin and Ethan Griffin, his brother James Hartmann (wife Jane), and his nephews David Portwood and Edward Portwood (wife Margaret), survive him. A Rosary will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Placentia on November 14th at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 1505 East Seventeenth Street, Suite #109, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
