Iris Lenore Guggisberg

Guggisberg, Iris Lenore, has gone home into the arms of Jesus. She was preceded by her two boys, Mark and Bradley, and her beloved husband, Rex Frederick Guggisberg. Born July 31, 1930, Iris grew up in Buena Park and graduated from Fullerton Union High School in 1948. In December of that year she married Rex. They settled in Fullerton and had three children, Mark , Bradley, and Ann. They were joyfully married for 61 years. She was one of Gods miracles having been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2009. She outlived the doctors diagnosis by 4 years of quality life and passed peacefully on August 12, 2013 at home, with family by her side. Iris had a sharp mind and a love of friends, food, books, and travel. Her love of work led her from Knotts Berry Farm to Del Piso Tile to the Anaheim Convention Center Red Coats. She was a woman of grace and courage who inspired everyone who knew her, with her love of God and zest for life. Iris leaves a legacy of love and laughter to her daughter Ann Guggisberg , her son in law, Rex Henry, her sister, Pinky Betz, and all her cherished friends and family. A memorial service will be held at Rose Drive Friends Church on Tuesday, August 27th at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society of the National Kidney Foundation.
