Jack Dinicola was born July 13, 1935 in Cresson, PA, from Albert and Dorothy Dinicola. He had a younger brother and sister, Louis and Barbara, with whom he was very close his entire life. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Geology in 1958 and was in ROTC. He joined the United States Army as an officer after college and served a little over two years. He married Marjorie Duman April 4, 1959 and they were married for 55 years. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1961 and began his career in the Defense Industry. He obtained the degree of Juris Doctor in 1977 and worked in defense contracting as a contract administrator and program manager for 30 years. Most of those years were spent at General Dynamics Pomona and Valley Systems divisions where he had many friends. He worked notably on the Stinger Missile program, a famous weapon system that revolutionized warfare in the 80s and 90s and is still a significant government program. He was a racecar driver, an auto mechanic, a musician (trumpet, French horn), a sketch artist and a home improvement handyman. He was an avid Steelers fan and instilled those beliefs in his family. Many happy moments were spent watching the games as a family. He had a series of dogs, Chipper, Rufus, Dipper, Tori, Chip, Wrecks, Wobbles and Bentley, and was known in the family as a dog whisperer as he was able to take problem dogs and make them great family pets. He loved his wife, family and friends and caring for his family was his greatest passion and priority in life. He was respected as a professional and loved by his friends. He enjoyed gatherings of family and friends and could be seen in countless pictures wearing the brilliant smile he was known for. Jack passed away on June 20th. He had been in declining health in recent years and was cared for loyally and lovingly by his wife and children. He succumbed to metastatic cancer and passed away in peace surrounded by family. His family, while sad at his passing, is filled with gratitude to have had a man of his great qualities and limitless love and affection in their lives. His message was simple and constant, love each other , he would say. And we knew that was the most important thing to him, that his family be bonded by love. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Dinicola, sister Barbara Dinicola, sons Mark Dinicola and Rick Dinicola, daughters Marianne Dinicola and Jennifer Dinicola. He had five grandchildren, Amber, Kyle, Kevin, Isabella and Connor. And we are all thankful for the wonderful outpouring of love and support from all who knew him and his family. The Funeral Mass will be July 9th at 10:30am at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 717 North Bradford Ave., Placentia, CA 92870.
