James “Jim” Emmett Rogers, 85, of Placentia, California, passed away on April 16, 2018, in Anaheim, California, after a prolonged illness. Jim was born in Arkansas to Emmett and Dessie Rogers in December of 1932. His family moved to California in the 1940’s and settled in the Riverside area. He was the eldest of seven children. Jim began serving in the National Guard at the age of 17. He was stationed in Japan and Korea under command of the U.S. Army and drove trucks in a supply-chain function. He served with honor and received an honorable discharge. Jim worked for National Cash Register (NCR) and was on the team that worked on the first commercial computer. Subsequently, he acted as president of Nano Pulse Industries, which manufactured pulse transformers and other electronic components in Orange, California; Hong Kong; and Taiwan. More recently, he worked for Lackner Computer as a CAD software salesman and ran both Rogers Products Company (RPC) and, later, CADReps. He was a draftsman and engineer. Jim was involved in the Southern California Blue Bird Club, The CEO Roundtable, and the NetTech Group. Jim volunteered at OC Global Medical Center in Santa Ana doing wheel chair duty. He would often say that he had delivered three babies that day, to the parking lot. Jim is survived by his wife Dottie, brother Bob, sister Glenda Pierce, son William, daughter Sheryl Briggs, son Paul, daughters Cindy Headlund and K.C. Benjamin; grandchildren Beau, Ty, James, Jennifer, Mary Ann, Dylan, Kevin, Kayla, Natasha, and Bethany; and 13 great-grandchildren.
