It is with very heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Ewald. He lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 16th in the early afternoon. He passed away at home while surrounded by family and friends. John was born in Long Beach, California, on February 13, 1950, and has lived in Brea for the last 35 years. He is survived by his wife, father, two brothers, and two daughters. John worked in the printing business for the last 45 years and was a huge part of the drag racing world. He devoted his time and energy to bringing smiles to the faces of fans and friends, as well as many local school children. He was larger than life and touched so many people from all over the country. We will say our goodbyes at a memorial service for him at the NHRA Museum in Pomona on Saturday, May 2nd.
