
John Douglas Doug Muirhead, 77, died surrounded by loved ones, on March 14, 2013 after a long, courageous and mostly victorious battle with cardio-pulmonary disease. Doug was born in Fresno, California to Alexander and Bernice Muirhead. He served in the US Army and graduated from The University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Business Administration. Doug dedicated more than 40 years of service as a stockbroker/wealth advisor for Dean Witter and Morgan Stanley. He lived a life of personal and professional integrity, steadfast in his loyalty to his family and friends, our country and military, his church, clients and the Cal Berkeley Rowing Program. He was a generous supporter of numerous philanthropies dedicated to preserving Americas founding principles and improving the lives of veterans and children. Loved ones who celebrate Dougs life and honor his memory include his wife Margaret Muirhead, his sister Judy Ballew, his daughters Natalie McDaniel and her family Shawn, Alex, Michael, Adrian, Victoria, Valerie and McKayla, Pamela Nichols and her family Chris and John, and Victoria Laman and her family Ned, Nicholas and Evan. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2400 North Canal Street Orange, CA. There will be a reception immediately following at The Summit House Restaurant in Brea. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org
