Othniel A. Oakley, affectionately known as Sydney, of Garden Grove, CA, passed away on January 11, 2026.
Sydney was born in Jamaica to parents Evadne Berry and Othniel Oakley in 1940. He was a dedicated Christian, a devoted teacher, and a multi-talented artist, excelling as a dancer, actor, painter, sculptor, and musician. He enriched the lives of many through his passion and creativity.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife Joslette, parents Evadne and Othniel, and sister Daisy. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Alex; grand-daughter Dominique; six siblings: Sinthia, Philis, Bertram, Raymond, Sonia, and Lorna; and a large extended family.
Sydney’s viewing will be held on 6-8 PM Friday, February 20, 2026, and Celebration of Life Service on 10 AM February 21, 2026, at Living Waters Christian Fellowship, 9801 Talbert Ave., Fountain Valley, CA 92708.
